I had a d16 with a turbo back in the day. I was into autox and really loved how light the car felt. then one day while at the autox I blew the motor. rod shot thru the block. I couldn't believe how tiny the rods were. anyways I had a shop build me another d16 with pistons and rods and the car was a beast. if all goes well I should have another civic soon with a high compression b18 motor. Not crazy power but should be perfect for what I need.

I installed LS/B20 rods along with Vitara pistons in my D16 a few years back mainly because I had a machine shop hook up. all it took was shaving .5 mm off each side off the big end so it fits the crank and get a custom bronze bushing for the small end, no boring on the small end.. the bushing can be ordered from DJ at Crower once you get bushing size from your machine shop...

with a hookup its whatever. but even cheap cx racing rods are a better upgrade and can be had in the $200 range. if your paying for little parts and machine shop fees itll easily add up to more than what it costs for even legit H beams.

how much power did you make friend, I bought a d16a from my cousin with b20 connecting rods and vitara pistons, I made it turbo, I only did a street tune, but I want to know what is the maximum power I can get, I will take it to dyno soon

@@luisgabrielpolanco8765 I never had it dynoed but I heard of LS rods being able to handle 400 whp. my CRX has a small DSM T25 and other D16's that I remember having the same turbo made 180 WHP with a non VTEC head..

I found you at 1 am and I was up watching a bunch of your videos until 6 am 😂😂. You’re funny as hell and pretty knowledgeable I learned a bunch of stuff I never even knew about. Keep it up man you definitely need more than 8k subs. And with the d-series guys my first car is a 98 civic and even after a year I’m not building an na d-series i’m saving up for a b-series. Ace Dollaz i do 2 to 3 heat cycles then change oil. u crank the car for few minutes to prime it whit the ECU disconected then plug ECU start car check for leaks let the car go operating tempeture thats ur first heat cycle.let the car completely cool. then do it again to more times if u have ACL u gonna have gold metal shavings dont panic ur bearings are getting breaking.

whats ur take on reusing rods that had a spun bearing. journal still clean. just the heat collored the big end

VHB Engines I was reading and it said that all suspension parts from 92 to 2000 were interchangeable only difference from the hatch and the coupe are spring rates but will that matter since there after market?

it doesnt matter. the differences between the y7 and y8 block disappear once you put forged internals

your boosting with vitara's so the compression is already super low. its a tiny difference in compression drop with the z6 head. go watch the compression video i just made and go to the website to play with the numbers yourself.
