Keep up the great work, I always knew the 2.0 is the one to go for. Lighter front end and the B48 was the just overshadowed by the B58, but not in any way inferior !

Those b48 are highly underrated. I’m happy with simply a DP and a JB4. My only issue is heat soak so I can’t wait till you guys release that manifold so I can do a track day without worrying about heat soaking. Engine already feels plenty stout for me to be honest but it is nice to know there is so much overhead in terms of reliability.

Good stuff man. I have a full send, Pure800 M340i, but appreciate and respect when someone does something different 🫡 That said, B48 looks hella easy to work on with that extra open space.

I wonder if my 2023 330e RWD B46B20B engine is the same as your Supras... Would be interesting to know if I can push my stock turbo with the added electric power on top.

What if you don't want a big turbo, just a better turbo? Like one that's just enough bigger so as not to be breathless at the top RPM range? Like, take that whole plot and rotate it 10 degrees counter-clockwise, then extend it out to 7000. It'd put the torque at 3000rpm down from 415 to about 360, but the HP would raise to 390 at 6200, with the whole curve looking much more even and flatter, but still bottom end to midrange focused. If you rotate the plot 15 degrees, torque at 3000 goes down to 330, but HP would rise again to around 430, with the whole plot now looking purely midrange focused with an almost perfectly flat/parabolic arc of torque, seemingly able to rev it out to 8k before gassing out. This is just me screwing with it in MS paint 3D to tilt the graph. Also, I know that a turbo that would act like this (especially the latter example) might not come on properly until 3500rpm, anyway, but hey, with proper turbine sizing, design, A/R ratio, and a twin-scroll housing with a divided equal length manifold (assuming the B48 uses a header, still), it should still be pretty good. It's not like I'm trying to squeeze 650whp out of it with this idea, y'know? Just... maybe 500whp without losing too much of the low end, and extending the max RPM to 7000-7500.

that sound like a lot of stress for a 4cyl bmw engine i have the 2.0 as well but honestly id be fine with 350-400 hp i live with alkso im in cali so them passing that new camera law it puts me off harshly p.s. cali laws suck

@@mondragonmsaul308 slap in some forged pistons and your safe, the rods and cam are already forged, not many know this but when the b48/b58 where designed it was initially the b47/b57(disel), they used the same internals material, this is why the new B engines are so strong and can handle torque well.

It is a great shame Toyota forbid manual transmission to this car to promote GR86 which grenades it self for lack of oil. BMW electric steering is lousy and these 2.0 cars handle better due to lighter weight, while even a mild 315 break horse power tune makes it a perfect weekend canyon bomber.

Good thing to mention as well is the 4-cylinder BMWs get a “better” steering rack due to greater clearance which in turn gives better feedback

People seriously underrate and underestimate the ZF8 speed. It's quite literally a DCT with a torque converter for comfort/smoothness. And protip, if you REALLY want to, you can hack it with a turbolamik TCU controller and add a 3rd pedal that will manually control the internal clutches, allowing you to take off and clutch kick/clutch dump like a manual. I even think, that with a little bit of ingenuity, you should be able to rig up some sort of H-pattern shifter to go between gears 2-7 (that's 6 individual gears) manually, if that's what you desire. Otherwise, with the turbolamik, a simple sequential shifter stick in the center console is easy to do/already built into the programming.

@@ruve_9074 im not saying the 2.0 supra is bad im just saying that if your gonna mod it might as well go for the big bro the 2.0 is really for people who just wants a supra but dont really care about the performance factor of it plus this exact supra its not that much faster its 0.8 seconds faster then a stock 382hp 3.0 supra to the quater and is only o.4 of seconds faster to 62 and that car have drag radials put drag radials and forge wheels on stock supra and i bet it to will do the same time plus even if it is slightly faster this car is only 8.5k usd cheaper then a base 3.0 this exact car have ipos billet manifold ipos downpipe and ipos e85 fuel kit and port injectors on a custom tuned and an afe intake kit the parts alone acording to ipos and afe website is already 4g the tune should be another 1g so thats a 5gs just in parts and software labour and shiping is at least 1g so your only saving 2.5gs this does not include wheels or tires and lets not forget the 3.0 supra actully come with brembo brake kit but now your car warranty is deffinitly fucked and its not gonna be very reliable long term and you miss out on the brembo brakes all to save 1500usd for a car that is barely faster then a stock 3.0 supra.

@@adventsociety5382the Supra 2.0 is only lighter because it takes less brakes and less cooling to stop and cool down the smaller engine you starts installing csf intake heat exchanger radiator and bigger oil cooler and big brake kit to the car the weight gap starts shrinking so now you have a car that is barely lighter then 3.0 and is definitely not as reliable or retain as much of its value since all mods go down the drain plus all to that mod and the price gap of the 2 model should be very close.
