02:00 “....and modification of the instrument is not permitted”. Not to “sound” argumentative, however I must respectfully disagree with this statement. The FCTM and FCOM of all Boeing aircraft allows the pilot to modify the selected approach from the FMC up until the FAF (Final Approach Fix). A cold temperature correction may be added to the initial, intermediate and missed approach segments. From the FAF to the missed approach (MAP) there is no modification allowed, expect for the holding dependent whether you are radar identified (or not). During low temperatures (below 0*C, you are authorized to modify the procedural altitudes prior to the FAF for terrain and obstacle clearance assurance. If you search low temperature altimeter correction, you will find a table that is FAA and ICAO approved and used during winter operations. All approaches are based on ISA conditions only, hence your altimeter will over-read or under-read depending on the temperature during the approach. In the case of low temperature (below 0*C, if you do not correct the procedural altitudes as previously stated, and you engage VNAV (VNAV PTH on the PFD), your altimeter may read you’re on the correct descent path but in reality your obstacle clearance is greatly reduced.

Super explanation! Now we don't need the ILS equipment anymore😉 Well I would be happy to have it as a back up when GPS fails if someone would pay for the upkeep😀 If desperate there is INS

Hello thanks for nice and clear explanation :), what I missed is why we are turnig off DME/DME source of update? Another question is if we have on chart only LNAV app with DA(H) except MDA(H) do I need to add a 50 ft HL?

Dome updating turned off because it’s assumed with proper RAIM that the GPS updating is more accurate than dme updates, so we don’t update the fmc position to a more inaccurate position, and thus keeps the anp as high as possible, preventing the dreaded “unable rnp” message that would dictate a missed approach if not in visual contact. As to your other question, I don’t think if the approach is LNAV only that you would see a DA listed? So should be listed as a MDA instead, and the 50’ should be added to mins. The way to remember is that MDA stands for “must do arithmetic”. And DA stands for “Don’t add”. Had to edit some for auto correct.

Are you associated w/ virtual airline or organization - In this or your other RNP video you mention something that I didn't recognize - you also mention a multi page printed document - where would that be found? Thanks.
