Pulling the plenum that runs from airbox to lock carrier helps on a stock car, and removing that front cover over the latch safety release gives you a lot more access. FYI, the release lever has a bottom on the back, you push it in and lift and it comes off like a wiper arm.

I just replaced the seals on the intake runners to the manifolds. The passenger side tore and related a very healthy leak, almost all boost just blew out that opening. I suspect it had been slowly getting worse over time, since one of the screws looked a bit loose, probably from the seal failure and the hammering of boost...seal failed right by that screw. And I might not have known for a,while had the car not suddenly thrown a P2279; vague code unless you hear the hissing from that intake/manifold connection. Kinda happy it was that obvious, don't like to think about replacing a manifold. Had just a bit of rough idle for a couple of months, but the car has 100k miles on it so I thought maybe carbon buildup (I don't relish the thought of that job on the hot V engines). I stupidly did the job without putting the front in service position, but I absolutely would pop it on the lifts and do that next time. I don't know the life expectancy of these seals, same orange rubber that's ubiquitous across Audi engines so they likely last a long time in l service. I did have the rockers replaced under warranty, but that was 50k miles ago so I don't attribute it to the tech, just dumb luck. All that said, it's an easy job, more so if you gave better access, and I'll guess the job would be a grand in labor for 8 bucks in seals. OH, helpful, tip, for, the, bottom screw in the charge pipe at the turbo....a 4mm hex 'L' wrench will get in there and tighten the screw down enough to get a stubby torx socket in there, and I'll guess if you have a torx 'L' wrench you're set.

Nice. I got a inlet pipe on-hand for my 2018 S5 just haven't put it on yet. This video has me psyched to get it on there. Good Job.

Love how you covered your address at the beginning, but when you were opening said box, you can clearly see(Not that I care).. lol Either way, Love this mod.. I like watching everyone's mod videos, as I live vicariously through you/guys. As my B9 S4 is still, after all these years, very stock lol

Turbo inlet pipe does have a mega good effect on the mk7R. Does it have a good effect on the S5 also? If so i wan to buy

I think alone no, it sounds throatier for sure but without other mods it doesn’t make sense…do it 😈

That injen design is pretty bad tbh. You have a massive airflow drop and pressure increase with that long run. No such thing as "cold air" when you have a turbo in a hot-V lol.
