Does the new gasket for the water pump need any silicone or similar non hardening sealant or can it go on dry?

Yes the gaskets can go on dry, mine leaked at the o ring 1st time so I used silicone instead of buying new gaskets 2nd time.

It is the same on petrol, lpg & turbo variants fitted with Barra engines but some aftermarket water pumps have done away with the clamp for the heater tube on the back but are interchangeable.🔧
