In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. I totally agree that clad has the best archetypes. When I play a good defect or watcher run, I may feel very strong but I never feel super bought into the play style. Yes occasionally you’ll have a reprogram deck or something, but it seems like clad really lends himself to picking a build and sticking with it. Be it exhaust, self damage, strength, or fire breathing

I won an a20 run today with just this mix. Got a Dead Branch for heath loss at the start of the run, then Charon's ashes maybe 2-3 relics in. Corruption was an Act 1 Boss reward. About as close as you can get to a guaranteed win.

Yesterday I got an infinite with Fire breathing, Dark embrace, Evolve+, two reckless charge and a 0-cost second wind (ty madness). If I had two dazed, two reckless charge and second wind in hand, I could just go reckless charge x2, then second wind, and draw the same hand again thanks to dark embrace and evolve+. In the end, fire breathing wasn't necessary for the infinite, but it certainly speeded up the process.

About Combust's timing: Metallicize block burns because it's specifically coded to go off before cards that trigger effects at the end of the turn. Combust, or Bomb's power for example, all go off after

Got so excited when I saw the Apparitions - my favorite Clad run of all time was a Vampire Ghost deck where I used Feed to eat enemies back up to my starting HP & Bite/Apparition to survive. Not as much an option here since we're gunking up the deck with Wounds and such, but it brought back fond memories for me.

That sounds so fun! Great thinking/deck construction. I think the most fun run I had was a Watcher run with Snecko Eye, Talk to the Hand, Worship, and multiple Ragnaroks. Usually struggle against the heart with Watcher but not this time :D

There was a weird bug in the Heart fight. Dead Branch made a zero-cost Pummel Strike.
