I'm 52 and came of age in the U.K. punk and post punk era. The Who has been one of my favourite bands since that period as they always seemed to be of a part with that scene. How is it that after all those years since, the intro to this number still never fails to give me goose bumps? Townshend always managed an uncanny magical trick of writing songs that married (teenage) feelings of righteous anger, frustration and rebellion with spirituality and transcendence. This was his gift but our great benefit.

Outside of the immediacy of this video, the first thing that struck me was a memory of the Who's stage shows in the early '80s being noted for their elaborate production. Flashforward to 2019, and they're down to pulsing lights.

I'll never understand why people hold their phones the entire show and record the concert. What the hell are they going to do with the amateur footage? And how do you enjoy the show doing that? It's the dumbest thing in the world when I see a million phones in the air recording!!!

It's called memories............... plain and simple. Why do people record anything, why do they take pictures, why do you video your kids. "Memories are the illustrations from the storybook of our life."

@@TheCheryl57 A picture is taken in 10 or less seconds. People hold their phones recording for the entire show, so I'm not buyin the memory excuse. I went to see Howie Mandel and the lady in front of us was holding her cam corder for the entire show. It's just plain stupid and disrespectful.

Gene S as with everything that is your opinion but not necessarily other people’s opinion. Believe me where I’m sitting at a concert I guarantee the band can’t see me. I don’t see it as disrespect I see it as great admiration. Believe me if they’re bad I’m not taking video. I saw Paul McCartney a couple of years ago, he sounded terrible and I took no video.
