@meerontbijtkoek - Yes!! Because music and songs themselves are basically their own language! And the best part of all, is that: no matter who you are, where you live/where you are now, what you may have done in the past, or which country you came from, heck not even your native tongue (or, native language) is enough to stop music and songs from bringing people together. They are a beautiful part of our (Note: I'm using the term "our" collectively as in, "all of you other fellow humans out there".) histories and cultures. And, I have no doubt that any of us would be who we are if music and songs had never come into existence. Especially since the language of music and songs is universal!

That’s super interesting. “Tafadhali” is similar to Arabic with “tafaddal”, which can roughly mean “Go ahead” or is a gracious way to give permission. Like saying “Please, go ahead!” With proper context. I find this even more cool because Jesus likely preached in Aramaic, the early root language of Arabic. With the context of this Bible verse, one can kind of translate this from Arabic/Aramaic as giving permission- like “Please go then, pray like this....”

I'm an agnostic. I have trouble rationalizing some of God's actions in the Old Testament. But when I listen to this song... part of me has hope that I can call myself a Christian again someday. EDIT: It has been a long time since I first wrote this comment. And in that time, I've seen my country fall further prey to material possessions. I have seen people claim to be Pious, and yet turn to greed and hatred. They even go so far as to celebrate others' pain as a victory. They demand greater labor, yet deny reprieve. They strike with a whip, yet claim to be victims. They feast on food, yet call others gluttonous. They would strip others of the very free will given to us. And they will gleefully tell you "You're going to Hell; there is nothing else you deserve." And that... is why I seek to rekindle my relationship with God. My perspective has changed. The Lord *asks* for my loyalty; the rich man DEMANDS it. The Lord knows of love; the rich man knows only HATE.

That's assuming that God had anything at all to do with those events. We are relying on the written word of humans, who claim it is the word of God. People with strong feelings about things wrote the bible... not God. We don't truly know God, except what he echoes to us in our souls.

@Tayler Williamson... Do you not know that God bridges all languages? Do you not know that it doesn't matter the country you are from? God created every language on earth. God can cause whole nations and empires to rise and fall for crying out loud. Plus, it isn't a crime to appreciate another country's language and culture. This is how we are supposed to function. I'm from Kenya 🇰🇪, and I remember back in highschool I never did so well in languages, I was more of a math and science kind of guy. The fact that I had to juggle three languages, two of which would be tested in the exams, didn't make things easier. Kiswahili at highschool level was kind of difficult for me and there was a real risk that it would mess up my chance of getting a good college. In my final year of high school I studied hard but improvement in language is a long term complicated thing. The final exams came waaaay too soon and I was definitely not prepared enough but I just prayed and did the exam. 😂Ngl it was hard. I was expecting to get an E (the lowest grade in Kenya's education system). There was no way I'd get into the college I wanted with an E. However, when my results came out I had a B! Turns out I was better than what I gave myself credit for. I remember my mood was like *Baba yetu yetu....*
