How does it compare to head extreme, head speed, and babolat pure aero(non vs) ( especially in terms of ease of Swinging through the air and power )

Great review. Always used a smaller headed racket so tempted to try this one. Thank you very much. 👍

When will you be reviewing the new 98 16x19? That's the only Pure Strike I'm interested in.
@alastairtheduke2 жыл бұрын
I agree, so much free power and tons of spin. But all that power is hard to control. I found it sailing on me even when I'm barely putting anything into it. Very easy to create short angles.

I like poly tour strike....I'm thinking the racquet with RA rating of 72, maybe it's way too crisp. Whilst rpm blast is fairly stiff, it feels rather dead, so distinctly different stings, hence your dislike of strike compared to blast in this stick. I'm more interested in the 98, although the last iteration I didn't like at all. Happy where I'm at with my racquet of choice for now. The recent Head and Wilson releases not really to my liking. I'd say the entire collection more 'tweener' sticks, rather than 'player'. Maybe the upcoming yonex vcore 97 range maybe more tempting. I've still got a duel G 97 (330) in a kind of reserves!!!
@Tennisnerd5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I like it too. Somehow they did not play well together though. It wasn't jarring, just unresponsive. If I put Poly Tour Strike in my Prince TT 310, it plays much better so it was just a bad match. Nice to hear that you're happy with your current stick.
@nostro10015 жыл бұрын
@@Tennisnerd Thanks Jonas....so many permutations.....is also possible the tension wasn't a good match rather than the string itself. However, it's not easy to try every possibility, especially with costs involved. So granted from your findings poly tour strike wasn't a good match. Only so much tweaking you can do. Excellent work!!

Babolat still havent officially announced the release date, some suggestion its the 22nd but nothing 100%..I emailed them and they didnt even bother to reply, yet they expect me to buy another 3 of their frames like my previous PS? Tennis companies really are the pits..
@Tennisnerd5 жыл бұрын
From what I heard the whole line should be released in August, so hopefully within 1-2 weeks. But yeah, the flow of information and the transparency of tennis companies could be a lot better!
@TheBigBlue225 жыл бұрын
@@Tennisnerd Thanks for this, yes theyre all lousy..Babolat have now launched the 100 and Team versions here in the UK but seriously why not release the 16/19 and 18/20 at the same time? Its so frustrating, theres literally no information, these companies need to realise how crap they are..
@TheBigBlue225 жыл бұрын
@@Tennisnerd Hi, so after a huge social media and advertising campaign to launch the new Pure Strike specifically the 16/19 and 18/20 versions and a go live date of the 22nd of August, as of today some two days later you still cannot buy these frames in any major European tennis retailers like Tennis Warehouse Europe, Tennis Pro Eu, Tennis Point or Pro Direct Tennis. So a company based in France cant even get their products shipped out within 500km from their own distribution network? How pathetic is that? And by the way they are now deleting social media posts on Instagram complaining about this? Something has gone very badly wrong with their launch of this frame and they know it..

@nicholasadamec91725 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a great update! My younger brother is a current user of the old pure strike 98 16x19 and was wondering your thoughts on the new one and any possible ideas on how it might play. He is using Head synthetic gut in the mains and luxilon adrenaline rough in the crosses and 48 pounds for tension. How do you think that would fit with the new racquet technologies?
@Tennisnerd5 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Adamec Yeah, I think that could work, he might need to increase tension because this edition seems slightly more powerful...

Hey tennis nerd, love your videos! I wanted to see if you can recommend me a racket. 30 years old now. Played tennis in high school and in college leagues for fun. Have not played in 6 or so years and just joined a league! I like to hit hard but still keeping control. I don't play with much topspin. I would say intermediate level just to play with a few hours a week. Any suggestions will help, thanks!

Hi Jonathan, thanks a lot! There are a lot of good racquets out there. One that is easy to use and arm-friendly is the Wilson Clash, one I also like is the HEAD Gravity MP or the Prince Textreme Tour 310 that I am using. Those options are all relatively easy to use. If you like to go for flat winners, this Pure Strike could be interesting for you. Lots of power "for free"...

oz turk I would say they are similar technologies, hard to say which one works best. They both mute the response.

Countervail was a terrible introduction to most of the Wilson racquets imo - simply very little feel. I can't imagine any players using it, but who knows? 😮
@cd81455 жыл бұрын
So is the muted/dampened feel similar to the Radical 360 MP/Pro? Also muted as in vibration dampening, right? Does this also mean you can’t feel the ball pocketing on the stringbed?
@Tennisnerd5 жыл бұрын
Chuong Do I think the Radical offers a more responsive string bed and more control, but the power level in the Strike is much higher.

Would you say this racket has more power than the 2015 Pure Drive Tour? I’m debating on waiting for this, getting the 2017 version, or the 2018 Pure Drive. My favorite racket that I’m trying to replace is the 2015 Pure Drive. I’m trying to switch from the Pure Control Tour since I’m looking for something for more power, but everything else was perfect on that racket. I mix between this and the 2015 Pure Drive would be perfect for me. Any thoughts? Especially for someone with flatter strokes?
