Thank God you rescued this baby bison. More and likely it would have fallen prey to a predator. It is so apparent this beautiful baby was in shock in a world its mother was not there to nurture and protect it.

Correction: GOVERNMENT, not humans, made this baby an orphan
@missgsm76284 жыл бұрын
don't care what the cause is , if one see a baby orphan, get it help and return to wild after its able to care for its self or give it a mom to her herd. never let a baby die, not its fault.

Without the protection of it's mom, this poor baby bison is destined to be the meal of wild wolves, bears or mountain lions.

Its very sad to see that he is without his mother and how desperate he needs her milk and protection. If it wasn't helped, then nature would have taken it course as upsetting as that is. Nobody likes to see an innocent life taken. I wonder if there had been made a phone call to some organization if it could have been saved. 💔🍁

It was saved thankfully. The government separated this baby from it's mother with the use of a helicopter... Read up on what happens to Bison once they leave Yellowstone National Park. It is horrifying

Yeah, and you'd be arrested before you left the park with that bison calf and the park would euthanize the calf as a result of you "helping" it.
@danaeXOXO5 жыл бұрын
This happens outside of Yellowstone park so there isn't much people can do without being arrested if anyone sees, so guiding it to a new herd was all we could do and in this case it worked, but it doesn't often

Why you dont helping this baby
@danaeXOXO7 жыл бұрын
Kamilia Alfonso we did. But we had to make sure the mother wasn't around. If she smells the scent of a human on the baby, she would abandon it. Sometimes you just have to watch. And if we were caught interfering, we could have been arrested. Sometimes you just have to wait. The mother died because the DOA was herding them with a helicopter into a river.

They put the baby in their car and the mother rejected the baby. The people responsible were fined $110 dollars by park officials. Sometimes mothers have to leave their newborns alone so they can eat. People don't need to intervene because it can mean life or death for the baby. The Rangers did the right thing by fining these people.

How anyone can watch such a scene and think 'this is just nature so I will only observe and not interfere' is beyond me. Surely if we are going to take the stance of not interfering in the course of nature then we must also take this approach to habitat loss of these animals, right? Or is it more that we are just going to NOT interfere IN NATURE within the shrinking confines of their natural habitats? .... Ooops sorry wild animals, we urgently needed to claim land you previously roamed freely to build a big f&#king ugly mall with a massive car park! This whole not interfering stance is no longer valid. It's bullshit! We steal their habitats for our selfish needs, we owe them! (And I'm from Australia so I know a bit about lands being stolen)
@danaeXOXO7 жыл бұрын
Matthew Young , this baby was helped. It is why the BFC in yellowstone monitors them so closely. But we can't help them if govt agents are around. Humans will be arrested and the baby shot. The herd the animals with no care and do so when the mom's are giving birth. This baby did find another nursing mother to take her but we had to wait for someone to help because if this baby smelled like a human, no mother would adopt it. And that was a stretch. This newborn was only about a week old.
@matthewyoung92927 жыл бұрын
Danae Martin Hi Danae! Thanks for the info :) I certainly didn't mean to make it sound like you did noting about it, for sure you did all you could. My gripe is the sometimes silly laws that would arrest you for helping or even sillier people who comment 'leave it die its nature'.

Pablo Herasme why? Cause I care? I can be when the only obstruction to clarity is human something as inane as govt red tape
@143freespeechnobuts56 жыл бұрын
Matthew Young. The reason why you shouldn't interfere is because of the fact that the mother will reject the baby. Which is what happened in this case. The people were fined for doing so. This baby was in a set aside habitat to preserve these animals but people like you couldn't resist the need to interfere. You are part of the problem not the solution. Leave nature alone.

@danaeXOXO5 жыл бұрын
The area he was in was by a bay of water in which the herd was pushed across. The baby was orphaned due to government helicopters. I watched him for almost 2 days before we guiding him to a new herd in hopes there was a nursing mother that would accept him
