NorYachts are proud to provide the market with this beautiful Baby Bootlegger Gentleman´s racer! River Breeze is constructed out of the Baby Bootlegger original work drawings. Current owner and builder have invested more than 5000 working hours completing this boat. He is an excellent craftsman who has been working with local boat manufacturer for decades. The Baby bootlegger fits in a container, and can be shipped world wide at low cost.
Standard:
The ribs are made from birch veneer, who is dressed by 3 layers of pinewood laid 45 degrees on top of another. At last it is a layer of mahogany. Everything is baked in epoxy. For the whole project, he used about 60kg of epoxy and 12 liters of clear coat.
Construction:
Designed by Georg Crouch, built by Henry Nevins, the construction of Baby Bootlegger was one of a kind. The sides of the mahogany hull were rounded of on the deck with a gradual change of curve from back to front. The advantages with the design was that it allows a light and strong hull with a minimum of air resistance.
She was originally built with a V8 Hispano-Suiza engine, especially the licensed Wright-Hisso version. The popular «Hisso» was used in the Spad fighter plane during WW1.
The owner, Caleb Bragg, was a successful racing driver, test pilot under WW1 and a skillful engineer.

Now she have a Rolls Royce Meteor V12, 27 liters that produces 600HP at 2500RPM! These engines were used in tanks like Cromwell, Comet and Centurion, and were produced by Rover from 1943 to 1964. The gearbox is a 2 step powerglide from General Motors

Her har du en unik mulighet til å bli den stolte eier av Norges råeste Gentlemans racer, River Breeze! Hun er bygd etter George Crouch sine tegninger av Baby Bootlegger, som var vinnerbåten av Gold Cup i USA i 1924 og 1925. Nå har hun den legendariske Rolls Royce Meteor, V12 på 27 liter, til å drive henne fremover, men den kan byttes ut med en mindre bensin eller eletrisk motor etter kjøpers ønske.
River Breeze er bygget av svært dyktige håndverkere på Sørlandet, og er flott utsmykket med kobberdetaljer, blodrødt okseskinn og autentiske instrumenter. Rammen til skroget er bygget opp av Bjørk, også er det lagt 3 lag med furu som ble lagt 45 grader oppå hverandre.Det siste laget er av Mahogni. Alt er bakt i epoxy, og det gikk med 60kg epoxy og 12 liter klarlakk på prosjektet. Hun er rigget for show, og hun trenger ikke sjøsettes for å få kjøling til motoren.
