I love his movies but he's not that original, the cornetto trilogies are parodies, Scott Pilgrim and Antman were comics and while i've not seen Baby Driver yet this trailer looks like a lot of other car chase, action-thrillers out there, this one looks like a mix of Drive and Need for Speed.

Spider Jeranimo Drive is inspired in a nother movie from the 70s and Need for Speed on a videogame. Every single Wright work has its clichés, and he makes fun of them. His style of parody is amazing, he hasn't explored this genre, I bet he did a great job.

So to all the people who keep saying this movie is a ripoff of Drive…it’s not. Edgar Wright himself says he originally thought of the idea almost 22 years ago and even adapted the idea into a 2003 music video for Mint Royale (which is the opening scene of the movie). So let’s stop all this nonsense about it being a parody or ripoff because that’s been settled by the man Edgar Wright himself. Secondly, to all the people who don’t think Ansel Elgort was a good cast for Baby, Elgort was the first to join soon after Wright announced production on Baby Driver. The rest of the star studded cast joined soon after. Now I’m the last person to say I’m an Ansel Elgort fan, but if legend Edgar Wright had the confidence to cast Elgort before anyone else as his lead for Wright’s first solo writing and directing credit after 22 years, I think that should answer the skepticism people might have about Elgort as Baby. Not to mention all the rave reviews coming from SXSW that talk about how Elgort is the one that steals the show from veteran buffs Spacey, Hamm, and Foxx, which is a pretty hard feat to do give or take a few Academy Awards, Emmys, Golden Globes, etc. Never stop doing your thing Edgar Wright. It definitely is, the choice of the music which is good but keep you concentrated on the film (example if they would have choose something like AC/DC or something most of the people would have been catch by the song, but personally when baby escape with Deborah I would have choose "Are you gonna by my girl - Jet"), the movie is built on sounds, his father is deef, Bats is a perfect character, maybe Buddy should have got Baby deef so he couldn't hear music anymore (this would have been a lot more bad instead of killing Deborah). The film is great, you get keen on by the first scene (the chase) PS sorry for my English

I would be totally disinterested if it didn't have Edgar Wright. But it does, so I will watch it regardless. EDIT: It just premiered at SXSW this morning to rave reviews. Apparently the film is actually kind of a musical/chase movie hybrid. Not that this shitty trailer would let you know that. If you have mixed feelings (as I did), or if you are in the replies comparing it to Drive, I would reccomend checking out the International Trailer, as it is A: Much better, and B: Probably more tonally accurate. I'm sure it was and did he think of a young man who was expert driving ability who falls in love with a girl who works in a diner, he eventually gets in the wrong side of a mob boss. That's the plot of Drive and beat for beat is also this plot, I really wanted to like the trailer but I can't pretend I'm not kinda pissed off.
