Glad you are enjoying the members, yes the individual guides will be real helpful...Not sure which you are gonna choose, but Cesar Oh puts out really good ones. Answers to some ?'s you had. Yes. They typically have the Solos within the concerts themselves. Also the fandom name is EXO 'L' ...not pronounced EXOL...it's L because it's the letter between EXO K and EXO M....A lot of times throughout some MV's you'll see L-1485, which is L for EXO L and 1485 is the year/month/day the fandom was created (Aug 5, 2014)

Lol we joke that when Kai is in revealing clothing that SM didn’t have much budget left and used his outfit to pay for it. He actually is super shy about showing skin, during one comeback he talked about how when he got off stage he slouched so his abdomen wouldn’t show😂 that’s why he’s named Nini off stage because he’s super shy and cute. Yes fans (mostly Korean) are crazy to want idols to never meet someone, that’s why Chen being married was such a milestone. He told us a little before April of 2020 that he was seeing someone and she ended up pregnant so he married her and later he got major backlash from fans, they wanted him to leave the group and even threatened his wife and kids, (some say she was a fan) he took a long break and did his time in military and the backlash went away due to the support of other fans. He now has another kid and fun fact his first was born in April and his 1st album was titled April and a flower❤️❤️❤️😭

Kai is not the first main dancer of the guide, you may have missed it but Lay is also main dancer along with Sehun...

Kai and Sehun were the ones who danced. Lay would have danced if he weren't on the guitar. The cameraman loves Chanyeol it seems but both him and Lay were playing the guitars. Lay also had a solo spot during the acoustic session for the Seoul concert for his song Monodrama.

SM Entertainment is known for 2 things...VOCALS and VISUALS. Everyone knows how to sing, including rappers. SM makes vocal training a priority. Most still take singing lessons to this day. SM can somehow see untapped talents and bring it out. For example, Taemin couldn't sing during Shinee's first album. NCT Taeyong was so bad at dancing his instructors almost gave up on him but now his a Main Dancer. Former TVXQ member Jaejoong was tone deaf before SM. Several enter SM only to find new talents. NCT Dream's Renjun got in as a dancer but now is a Main Vocalist. SM artists tend to have a certain look. People used to be able to tell when an artist was from SM just by their looks. They are so visual stunning that it's been said SM artists are required to get plastic surgery which isn't true. lol Kai isn't the only MAIN Dancer. You missed the part where Lay is listed as a Main Dancer as well. You said Kai reminded you of Taemin. Kai and Taemin have been Best Friends for about 14 years; since their training days at SM. Suho trained for 7 years because he was initially going to debut with Shinee before an injury kept him out. Some of the older NCT members are close with the younger EXO members because they trained together. I think NCT Johnny trained with EXO before debuting with NCT. EXO has 3 Main Vocals that are something else so vocal standards are very high. The others are wonderful singers but the 3 are considered the Vocal Trinity. One would have to be at their level to be considered a Main Vocal at SM. SM rate their artists in dance, singing, etc. and put them on different levels hence the terms main. lead, sub, etc... Out of the 9 members, 7 of them have solo albums. All are actors except Chen. Chen now has 2 daughters! Kyungsoo has won more than 20 acting awards now. He had that buzz haircut because of 2 of his movie roles at that time. His new movie "The Moon" was just released. He's much loved and is actually a part of a famous acting group of friends that include: Kim Woo Bin, Jo In Sung, Song Joon Ki, Lee Kwang Soo, Cha Tae Hyun, etc. It's cute to see these older actors support and promote Kyung Soo's activities on their social media. Sehun is the only member who hasn't served in the military yet. He'll probably go before the end of the year. Kyung Soo shocked everyone when he went in way before he had to but it was because there were movies he had to film. I don't know if you know that age hierarchy is very important in Korea. Korea had a different age system that was recently banned by law but everyone still uses the old method. Chen, Baekhyun and Chanyeol are all born in 1992 so are considered same-age friends. Kyung Soo was born in 1993 but is still considered the same age as those three because he has an "early birthday", January. Kai and Sehun are born the same year but according to Korean tradition Kai is considered a year older because he also has an early birthday so technically Sehun should be addressing Kai as "hyung". In Korea age is/was determined by the start of a new school year. A new school year started in March so if you had an early birthday and was born before school started, you are considered the same as a person born a year older since you would be in the same grade. Kai's birthday is January 1994 so he would have started school a year before Sehun who was born in April 1992 after the start of a new year. According to the law now, kids born in the same year all start school at the same time. There is no more early birthdays. It'll take a while before people get used to this. Korea uses the Gregorian calendar as standard but people like my mother only celebrate their birthday according to the lunar calendar. I recall a time in America that had something similar. If you were born in September or later (start of a new school year) you would often have to wait for the following year to start. I don't know if they still use that since it's been decades since I was in school. LOL EXOL-L pronounces the L so it's EXO-L with 3 syllables. Often called Aeri because that's kind of how the L sound is pronounced. Chanyeol designed EXO's hexagon logo. Each album has the logo designed similar to that promotion. For Love Shot, the diamond has the word EXO in it. The firework design for this comeback has the EXO in it. EXO was the first to use Bluetooth technology so light sticks can all be synced to show the same color at the same time. EXO holds the world record for fastest sold out concert at .02 seconds. LOL My unpopular opinion but Kris Wu is trash. He was a selfish piece of ___ because he left EXO suddenly and without saying anything to anyone, including members just before their first concert. EXO had to change everything for their concert in a very short time while being shocked and upset. He got famous with the EXO name before running to China to make millions. I wish people would not mention him as a former EXO member since he left so early. It's irritating when some fans talk about OT12 because it shows EXO in a bad light to be associated with a convicted rapist. Sorry for the long post. I got carried away. LOL Welcome to the fandom and I love your enthusiasm learning about EXO.

Finally I’ve found someone that agrees with me about Kris Wu! When I first got into Exo it was around 2016 and I was learning about the old members and I loved all of them except Kris, he just seemed like he hated it in the group and was “too cool” for Exo. I just couldn’t get attached to him. I heard that he wanted to be a solo act but SM put him in the group so maybe that’s why he left.

It makes my heart flutter when you mentioned that Kai reminds you of Taemin. Taemin and Kai pretty much grew up together, they trained together and are still the most iconic besties in kpop. When SuperM was announced, Shawols and Exo-L were most excited because we've seen how great Kai and Taemin are together. SHINee and EXO in general are sibling groups. I would recommend to check out TaeKai moments. These two are no joke and both are considered one of the best dancers in kpop.

lead vocals tend to be the ones playing “back-up / foundation” they allow for the song to flow between the flashier main vocals. and for a lot of groups, they can perform without their lead vocals but they need their mains.

Idk if someone has already answered about the 2 units working together, but yes they did. Their first concerts were performed with each other and they did bilingual versions of their songs before they merged the units together.

Those days were insane!~ Like, they would perform the first verse of a song in Korean then switch to Chinese and then back to Korean, or the reverse depending on where they were performing. And the choreo had to change to suit each situation!!! Like, a version for just EXO-K singing in Korean, a version for just EXO-M singing in Chinese, a version for all 12 members completely in Korean, a version for all 12 members completely in Chinese, multiple versions for switching between the languages, PLUS versions for remixes and added dance breaks with different configurations, too! I think at some point Suho said one of their songs had 13 versions of the choreography~~~

This guide is kinda old so here are some updates if you don’t know already: Chen has two kids now and Lay has left SM after not resigning the contract which is why he wasn’t in the Cream Soda promotions. Chanyeol has another dog name Zzar

I would say Xuimin is more of a Lead vocalist now bc he gives so much support , I would suggest the individual guides the one by Cesar Oh i think it's more detailed. and also their funny/ coatic videos you get to know their personalities better. For songs , with EXO always go with live option bc it's so much better than the MV idk how, vocal kings for sure . Except Tempo, obsession and love shot,miracles of december you need the Mvs and the live concert.

Tho, he has also studied and used lyrical styles of dance and is very good at them; he's more comfortable in street style dances. EXO has appeared on a popular variety show Knowing Brothers. Well worth watching. None of these members are “sub” anything. No other group has all the members excellent in vocals, choreography, rapping, acting, visuals, ambassadors for main products, even major clothing brands; they are terrific variety show guests, and occasionally even mcs. You would love Kyungsoo’s movie “100 Days My Prince “. All of the members, except DO, have shown abs. Well, Chen’s was an accident due to a falling prop. I think the only one with a more impressive body is Minho from Shinee. But then DO is showing some chest with Cream Soda!
