I think a big reason why I love watching your vlogs is that both parents are so involved. I come from a household that has no father figure around. Seeing a family so full of love and involvement from every angle is so nice. I can only hope that I can create a family with the same dynamic.

Anna and Jonathan you are remarkable as parents. You do such an amazing job and all the children are so incredibly happy. I'm here since before Emilia was born and I can't believe she's 7 already. And so here we have little Andrea on his day off to school. Where does the time go. You give your children a great start in life. Well done to the both of you. Sending love from Dublin Ireland. 🇮🇪☘💚

Thank you for mentioning Greta, I couldn’t agree more! In terms of “big gesture,” one thing that could be brilliant is to try meat-free Monday as a family or, for a big step, Male plastic-free choices! What about taking the kids to a zero-waste shop? I imagine they’d love the whole refill station as it’s like pick n’ mix. Also, KEEPY CUPS! Plus, when you go to places like Starbucks you get a discount 🥰 definitely reducing plastic is a huge step and i think the kids will really respond well to it, the older ones especially 💛

Things to do to help the planet, 1) Change your energy supplier to a green one like Octopus, Good Energy, Ecotricity or Bulb --renewable electricity and renewable/carbon offset gas. 2) Switch to a plug-in hybrid or electric car 3) Reduce your meat consumption. 4) Plant lavender, mint and borage in your garden. Bees LOVE them, and bees are so, so important! 5) Don't buy clothes or home textiles made of polyester, polyamide, nylon or rayon. They release tiny plastic microfibers into the water cycle with each wash that never fully biodegrade. As for a grand gesture, how about writing to your MP about how you would like the government to take swift action on preventing climate change? You could even do a petition and submit it with your letter. I see you're almost at 2 million subscribers (congrats!), so you'd probably be able to get loads and loads of signatures. You could also get a bunch of us Friendliest Friends together for a tree planting project or, even better, a fundraiser for firefighting/reforestation efforts in the Amazon! So great you're using the platform you have to get people talking about climate change!

Growing up, both my parents worked, so I spent equal time with both. When i was young I used to go to my dad when i was hurt, or sick, because he was more nurturing in my eyes. I always noticed my parents roles were different than others, my dad always cooked dinner for us, not my mom. It's annoying that those stereotypes were ever there in the first place, because ever family dynamic is different. I'm glad you broke apart from them, being the kind of parent you wanted to be, and not what most people expect from media, or their own family history. You're a great Dad, that is apparent!

I have been on a journey for 3 years to reduce my footprint. Shopping in bulk stores, farmers markets, trying to avoid single use plastic at all cost bc recycling is not enough... Buying less stuff, buying things with clean and natural ingredients as much as possible. I make my own detergents, so no chemicals in the house. I control the water and electricity that's being used in the house by changing all the taps and shower head. I use public transportation everywhere and use my car only on weekends and only if it is not possible to go to the place by public transportation. And i'm always looking for more things i can do in my life and house. AND... About the father vs mother roles... My father was like that, he was the one on the parents meetings and all that stuff and i loved it. He was very hard on me, but that made me stronger. GO DADS! :D

i was a nurse worked nights n my husband stayed at home full time. it was hard for my parents to accept a man at home but i knew this when i married and it worked pretty well for us. we were not going to have my husband work just for his money go for outside child care no way we wanted to raise our kids n then on my days off which could be four in a row if i stacked my shifts correctly we would do family stuff usually fishing!!! but later when all kids just two were in school. i think if he kind a lost self esteem in himself idk he volunteered at both schools a ton which is a good thing for a parent to do as much as possible for the teachers to get to know you better and to be there first hand for your child if need be. my hubby sadly passed away at 45 n i ended up with it all then i got disabled prolly burning candle at both ends tooo long so in 2008 we lost our home my career our pets n my kids were in third and eight grade it was very hard times going from nursing money to . Now i am 57 my oldest is 25 and yongest 20 and i feel i lost all the last eleven years. love your videos and yes kudos to that young girl speakin up for climate change.

I wish I had a dad like you! You're amazing and Anna is a great mother. I find it hard to believe that you're the only dad involved your kids' activities outside (and inside) the home. I thought that this millenial generation of parents would be ready for something different, and by that I mean, BETTER. But I live in urban parts of the United States and most people here still conform to traditional gender roles. I'm glad you're brave enough to do it with no men around!!!

My parents boths worked outside the house. My dad (in my eyes as a child) was always home late (around 6:30 PM). But he always did my school run and read a book at night! My mom was a teacher, so she was always at home during every school break. I think you guys have such an amazing opportunity to be so flexible with your working hours. Like Jonathan picking Alessia up in the middle of the day, was something my parents could not do. I think a lot of dads would want te be more involved but the circumstances and oportunities are not always there.

I think if everyone on this planet did a bit then climate may improve, I'm doing what I can. Planting trees is a great idea, I still miss a very massive tree that the council cut down because people complained about the needles on the gardens, it was a birds home to and took my pigeons a while to adjust, was so sad watching them land on the branches as they were being cut down.

I have been watching for five years, but have seen almost every episode. My two young kids watch the show with me at breakfast. I WISH you could talk to all men everywhere (especially my husband). My Dad was traditional, but also not. He left for work every day, but also did school runs, and came to my plays, and every night told me bedtime stories and played with me. It was HUGELY beneficial for my childhood experience. I think you are a GREAT Dad. I have wanted to say this before but @Jonathanjoly, you are the Mr Rogers for a younger generation. I have thought about messaging you to ask for you to use your imagination to create a children's show before, but here it is. I feel it would benefit so many little girls and boys to have a male role model who plays safely with kids in an online platform. Many kids have no Dad in the home, an abusive Dad, or a disengaged one. You could benefit so many by modeling great parent child relations. ❤️ watching you and Anna do what you do. Sincerely, Ann Pierce, a Mom from the USA, and Fan for life,

I'm happy that the stereotypical role of a Mom or dad continue to change. Share all the responsibilities. Decide together who does what. We all like to do some things more than others so it may all work out for the good. We see more and more Dads doing the school things. They bring a different energy to the group and it is welcomed! Any thing little or big we do to help reduce, reuse or recycle is a benefit. In USA there has been a wasteful culture!! This has to change and now.

Hi Jonathan, Imagine you were a single dad. Nobody would say something negative or give you weird looks for doing the school run or going to ballet. The people would assume, that you are a great dad. Imagine Anna were a single mom. Nobody would question why she won't come to any school events, if she has to work and to keep the household running. The people would assume, that she is a great mom. In reality you are not single, that is the only difference. You can't change narrow-minded people, but as children watch and learn from adults, other moms and dads learn from you! You are a great dad and a great mom!

Why not install solar panels to reduce your environmental footprint? I live in Australia so I'm not sure how effective it is in the UK but coal is a MASSIVE contributor to carbon emissions so go renewable energy wherever and whenever you can! Also, I'm 22 and still friends with a girl I've known since I was 2 so it's definitely possible hahaha

I love that you want to help make a difference and help the environment! Some things you could possibly do; solar panels on your house (save money in the long run and a good source of renewable energy, not sure how realistic this is though with the weather where you are), a garden! full of basic plants such as tomatoes, herbs, lettuce, etc. (great place to teach kids where their food comes from), buying from local farmers (farmer's markets support local economy and is usually lower waste), compost (a place to put food waste that you can then put back into your own garden and help all the plants that you are planting stay healthy in the future), tracking the amount of waste you produce as a family and try to get it down by that time next year (or monthly), using your platform to educate others and to show your support towards ethical and sustainable resources, and finally voting for people that understand and will work towards a more sustainable future. There are so many possibilities and this would be absolutely wonderful if you kept up on this and inspired others to do the same!

Yes Jonathan, you should have chosen the Tesla, i know Ana prefers the Land Rover because it is pretty, but it is just a car to take you to point A to B... so if we can change to a electric we should... I'm trying to build my own house, and one of the first steps is to by an electric. Know i live in an apartment with no garage, and no option to charge an electric so i can´t have one.... And second in my house that i´m trying to build, we will put solar paneling, and other eco frindly options to use the sun and heat to heat the water and the house.
