When it comes to big budget action films in India, all they need to be is below average at best to become one of the all-time blockbusters. Recent examples include Gadar 2 (Hindi), Devara (Telugu), and Goat (Tamil). I won't be surprised if mediocre baby john end up collecting over 200 CR in india

I'm baffled by how they managed to take a beloved film like Theri and make it so unremarkable. Samantha's performance was so memorable (in the OG Version) but Keerthy's role in this film was just so bland.

Please the role was the exact same in Theri and Samantha was nothing special in it where as she was marvelous in Telugu movies, only simps enjoyed it. It is a wannabe Ghajini Asin role that has no importance for the female. Ghajini story is lead by the heroine who saved girls from trafficking and revenge seeked by hero whereas Theri heroine is a love interest who gets killed only because she is the hero wife with no relation to the gang rape case. The final emotional dialogue to compare a wife to a mother is cringe that requires therapy for people thinks that way. This movie is iconic only for Anna and Samantha simps. Keerthi should have avoided this as her debut.

You can remake a Vijay film, but it's super hard to replicate his charm and acting prowess. Even mediocre Vijay films are watchable because of how likable he is in them. If you're smart, you wouldn't try to remake them in the first place.

Great review. I think adding some warm lighting (like lamps or something) would really elevate your dark background. Because while it's different and stylish, it looks a little cold. Love the red back on the chair, looks like a directors chair---very mindful, very on theme ❤. As for the movie, using women solely as a means to further the plot by brutalising female characters to enhance the hero's halo image is so "20th century". It's boring. It's unimaginative. I'm over it. I'm so glad that online platforms provide an avenue where I can be entertained and excited about the content without this overused, reductive violence. I'll be giving this film a miss. Thanks for the review.

Anupama is too old dated with her reviews with just added vocabularies to make it more presentable. Just see a mass movie as is…STOP comparing kids characters in different story line. It was unnecessary to compare Honey Bunny’s, Nadia’s character with Baby John’s kid. Both are different characters so stop comparing and it’s a shame for a movie reviewer to talk about kids and parenting when you know it’s just a fictional character’s play. It’s strange that when same movie cast appears in her filmmaker’s roundtable shows, she will speak highly about them but talks really low about their movies in her reviews. Funny yet true!
