We should also don’t blame Varun for doing this film, as he had said in a recent interview that Bollywood was offering him roles like chocolate boy or rom-com and not offering any substantial or serious role. If he can use this mid movie as a stepping stone to show everybody that he can pull off serious and action role, then we shouldn’t blame him. Also him saying that after citadel and Baby John trailer, he is suddenly getting a lot of good scripts proves the point.
@HappyLilJimmy12 сағат бұрын
He’s not suddenly getting good scripts , he’s literally doing no entry 2 border 2 and so many big films just bcz of his family and KJO support , they are lobbying big time for him , he’s treated better then Ranbir , even if baby John flops he’ll get another big action film too prove himself , He’ll keep trying too prove himself 20 times if he has too bcz he’s nepo , Ranbir had too give 900Cr film too get these huge films , Varun gets everything bcz of his birth and backing

Baby john happened even before citadel. Even jawan se b phle. Hence he makes sense choosing this film because he wanted to prove that he can do action. Ye bhi accha hua ki citadel phle aa gyi wrna log troll krte isko But except sunny sanskari, i am not hyped for his other movies, like he is doing no entry 2 ( why why why.. His comedy obsession!) Then there is border 2 which will work on nostalgia factor only. And he will be trolled again for his voice, because " the sunny paji" is there!

@@HappyLilJimmy first of all he had signed no entry 2 and border 2(which I think will be a good movie considering the director of kesari) way before citadel and baby John. My guess and hope is that Hollywood is realising that their expensive gambits are not working and will move to smaller films.

You mean like how Hollywood mostly churns out sequels, prequels, spin-offs, remakes, or films based on existing IPs, while barely making original movies? Or how they push narratives like forced feminism or LGBTQ representation, along with race and gender-swapped characters? Or the way every film feels like a copy of the last because they follow tired, formulaic plots, with directors having little creative control and action scenes handled by the same teams the studios trust more than the actual filmmakers? Hollywood doesn't make films anymore, they mass-produce content. The Western audience is tired of it, but many in India still seem to idolize it

Maybe Salman in the lead role would have been far more convincing, even if maybe repetitive.

I completely agree with Jammy. I too had high hopes for this movie but Bollywood disappointed me once again. Why is it again and again, Bollywood cannot deliver a high with a action film even when they have all the elements. The movie has stylized action sequences, multiple entry shots, above average background score but I did not feel excited any time Varun Dhawan was on screen. The main culprits are its screenplay, dialogues and unnecessary songs. I am now afraid that Bollywood is loosing its touch with the audience and making movies that it expects will rake in the moolah. Bollywood just a few years ago had variety, you had romantic comedies, social message movies, comedy movies and so much more. It feels like Bollywood is drowning but it does not want to make a genuine effort to revamp itself. Its been months since I felt excited and happy while I exited any Bollywood movie. Please Bollywood find your groove back in 2025

In february, when announcement dropped - i was actually pumped up expecting a to-the-point action flick. They turned this into a maximalist commercial film with love song and chamak-dhamak. They could have kept it simple and slick, rather going maximalist with everything.

I was excited for this movie when the teaser dropped. But the songs were pretty bad apart from that BGM . The songs are almost non existent compared to something what Stree 2 did. Every song was a banger . I lost interest hence . I might still watch it later on OTT.

Bro, instead of salman khan, imagine, just IMAGINE, if they somehow managed to get a thalapathy cameo. Even as an afterthought, it would've been the best kind of fan service.

To assess the quality of storytelling in the popular pan-Indian action films from both Hindi and South Indian cinema that have gained mainstream attention post-pandemic, consider watching ten of them consecutively; you will find them to be quite similar. ~Anurag Kashyap
@0501382 минут бұрын
Baahubali, KGF, RRR, Kalki, Pushpa, Animal.... I find no similarities between them! Baahubali - Period war epic saga with inspiration from Indian epics RRR - Alternative Reality / fiction from India's Independence time KGF - A man's quest to conquer the Coal mines and rule the world Animal - a good man who turns psychotic with his Over-obsessed with his Dad Kalki - Religious prophecy blended with Dystopian Sci Fi futuristic world building Pushpa - The rise of a low life coolie turned smuggler due to injustice he faced All these are different and were hit due to different reasons.... Every masala commercial movie doesn't 1000 cr, only those that have uniqueness in terms of theme, plot, world-building or execution.... blended with great visuals, and an immersive experience. Otherwise even Devara by Jr. NTR or those films by Vijay Thullupathy (Tamil star who tried to succeed Pan India 4 times and failed) would also have made 1000 cr. There are 8-10 reasons why a movie becomes universally. Sometimes it's the subject matter, the directors vision and execution, the technical aspects, the world-building, the actors image, the political messaging, connect to hinterland, the timing of movie and hype before the release. So any successful Pan-Indian film have ticked ALL or MOST of the above reasons, only then it goes on to be that successful. Anurag should come out of his shell, and try to make the next great film rather than making these outdated, and out of touch comments.... 😂🤷
@PrayasRahangdale8 сағат бұрын
People who trolled pushpa will not even dare to utter a single word about this film because 'hey, it has better aesthetics' - they don't care for emotional connect which pusbpa had which was the reason everyone loved it but some pretentious soft bollywood fans will call baby john a mass film, which btw they got introduced with jawan haan.

Only two genuine reviewers are left at this point on youtube. One is Jammy and other is Shan. Others have time and time again shown that either they get paid to give positive reviews or they dont have enough cinematic sense to judge a film.

And yea considering ur taste to be better than someone else just because u watched some Hollywood shit doesn't really prove a single point ...masala films are also considered art and yea PPL enjoy them without a care in the world because they just want some relief from all the day to day stuff ...no one really said pushpa is a serious content oriented movie ...so its just not for u ...there are many who watch and enjoy such films ...so much that it might just be the biggest Indian movie

Ugh some of these comments make me wanna die. Why y'all hating on South Film Industries especially Tollywood? Just because Bollywood is trying to copy them? Then why blame Tollywood for that? They will make movies they like and think are good. Instead Bollywood should focus on regaining its lost identity. Look this will sound harsh. But why Bollywood movies get trolled is very much explained by Tigmanshu Dulia who explained instead of making films for the common man of India, Bollywood started making films for NRI's and more modern high class indians. Now this is necessarily not a bad thing but problem came when they completely sidelined the middle class audience and audience from more rural backgrounds. Such people want entertainment from their usual daily monotone lives and why they shift more to South Films. And another issue with Bollywood is unwarranter social themes over and over again. See its not necessarily bad but when you do it so much in a film to the point it becomes overbearing the audience feels frustrated and suddenly it loses relatability. Look at Maharaja. A movie that showed the pain of a father which is relatable for Indian Men and the love he has for his daughter which most Indian men would find beautiful along with many indian women as well. That combined with a slight social message of the sufferings of a rape victim was beautifully depicted in it along with its entertaining plot twists. THAT is a Movie.

Baby john had potential and was fun mostly until it tried to be a mix of vikram and leo with the forced agent reveals like come on , he's a fcking cop not an agent. Seems like atlee and kalee copied too much from lokesh this time. The best thing about BJ is the action being on par with lokesh movies where there is no slow mo but well choreographed action.

His initial years were very good because he was doing those comedy, soft romance roles which had good dialogues , but after judwaa 2 something shifted maybe the writers stopped putting efforts earlier they used to make brainrot movies also unique but now, they don't even make sensible movies unique
