We should also don’t blame Varun for doing this film, as he had said in a recent interview that Bollywood was offering him roles like chocolate boy or rom-com and not offering any substantial or serious role. If he can use this mid movie as a stepping stone to show everybody that he can pull off serious and action role, then we shouldn’t blame him. Also him saying that after citadel and Baby John trailer, he is suddenly getting a lot of good scripts proves the point.
@HappyLilJimmyАй бұрын
He’s not suddenly getting good scripts , he’s literally doing no entry 2 border 2 and so many big films just bcz of his family and KJO support , they are lobbying big time for him , he’s treated better then Ranbir , even if baby John flops he’ll get another big action film too prove himself , He’ll keep trying too prove himself 20 times if he has too bcz he’s nepo , Ranbir had too give 900Cr film too get these huge films , Varun gets everything bcz of his birth and backing

Baby john happened even before citadel. Even jawan se b phle. Hence he makes sense choosing this film because he wanted to prove that he can do action. Ye bhi accha hua ki citadel phle aa gyi wrna log troll krte isko But except sunny sanskari, i am not hyped for his other movies, like he is doing no entry 2 ( why why why.. His comedy obsession!) @@HappyLilJimmy first of all he had signed no entry 2 and border 2(which I think will be a good movie considering the director of kesari) way before citadel and baby John. You mean like how Hollywood mostly churns out sequels, prequels, spin-offs, remakes, or films based on existing IPs, while barely making original movies? Or how they push narratives like forced feminism or LGBTQ representation, along with race and gender-swapped characters? Or the way every film feels like a copy of the last because they follow tired, formulaic plots, with directors having little creative control and action scenes handled by the same teams the studios trust more than the actual filmmakers? Hollywood doesn't make films anymore, they mass-produce content. The Western audience is tired of it, but many in India still seem to idolize it

Maybe Salman in the lead role would have been far more convincing, even if maybe repetitive.

Seems like whenever a director does not have faith in his product, he just asks Salman to do a cameo and showcase it in the trailer. They should have changed the tone of the movie to make it more palpable to the Hindi audience and cast an actor with a wider range. Varun could shine in something like a remake of Maaveeran with Salman's voiceover as such a role won't require the protagonist to be intimidating.

Baahubali, KGF, RRR, Kalki, Pushpa, Animal.... I find no similarities between them! Baahubali - Period war epic saga with inspiration from Indian epics RRR - Alternative Reality / fiction from India's Independence time KGF - A man's quest to conquer the Coal mines and rule the world Animal - a good man who turns psychotic with his Over-obsessed with his Dad Kalki - Religious prophecy blended with Dystopian Sci Fi futuristic world building Pushpa - The rise of a low life coolie turned smuggler due to injustice he faced All these are different and were hit due to different reasons.... Every masala commercial movie doesn't make 1000 cr, only those that have uniqueness in terms of theme, plot, world-building or execution.... blended with great visuals, and an immersive experience. Otherwise even Devara by Jr. NTR or those films by Vijay Thullupathy (Tamil star who tried to succeed Pan India 4 times and failed) would also have made 1000 cr. There are 8-10 reasons why a movie becomes universally appealing. Sometimes it's the subject matter or theme, the directors vision and execution, the technical aspects, the world-building and action scenes, the actors image and charisma, the political messaging, connect to hinterland, the timing of movie and hype before the release. So any successful Pan-Indian film have ticked ALL or MOST of the above reasons, only then it goes on to be that successful.

Random Texan here. I really enjoyed the movie. It was, at times a bit over the top and I agree the music/dance sequences put me off the story a bit, but overall I appreciated enjoyed the film. The “comedy is serious” moment was so needed as I felt that actor/character deserved it for how wonderful he was in the film.

Only two genuine reviewers are left at this point on youtube. One is Jammy and other is Shan. Others have time and time again shown that either they get paid to give positive reviews or they dont have enough cinematic sense to judge a film.
@abhinavmaharaj4804Ай бұрын
😂😂😂. You connect to then more . Each person has his own sense of cinema . Just because it doesn't match with your view does mean they don't have enough "cinematic sense"

Lol...ones entertainment is not the same for someone else... arguing shit like true reviewers ...fake are PPL who doesn't have brain to begin with .... they are just opinions ... considering them a fact is crazy and btw just saying tho the same movie they disliked is now the biggest Indian movie ....so that says a lot about the pov's of general audience...don't expect shit to be the same as u believe it to be ....

@vanstregankkrАй бұрын
And yea considering ur taste to be better than someone else just because u watched some Hollywood shit doesn't really prove a single point ...masala films are also considered art and yea PPL enjoy them without a care in the world because they just want some relief from all the day to day stuff ...no one really said pushpa is a serious content oriented movie ...so its just not for u ...there are many who watch and enjoy such films ...so much that it might just be the biggest Indian movie

Even after watching theri , I felt baby john actually quite entertaining 🙌 despite its flaws mainly because of jakie shroff's demonic acting and bgm is actually fire 🔥 and some of the fights were slick coregraphed and Varun Dhawan pulls those with ease. Also love the fact that it's not 1 to 1 copy and effort was put into it where people are just blindly shitting the movie without watching just for the fact that it's a remake . So I recommend people to watch the movie ❤ even if it's a remake and even if you have watched theri the screenplay is quite different from the original

honestly this could've been something else rather than THERI remake

I completely agree with Jammy. I too had high hopes for this movie but Bollywood disappointed me once again. Why is it again and again, Bollywood cannot deliver a high with a action film even when they have all the elements. The movie has stylized action sequences, multiple entry shots, above average background score but I did not feel excited any time Varun Dhawan was on screen. The main culprits are its screenplay, dialogues and unnecessary songs. I am now afraid that Bollywood is loosing its touch with the audience and making movies that it expects will rake in the moolah. Bollywood just a few years ago had variety, you had romantic comedies, social message movies, comedy movies and so much more. It feels like Bollywood is drowning but it does not want to make a genuine effort to revamp itself. Its been months since I felt excited and happy while I exited any Bollywood movie. Please Bollywood find your groove back in 2025

I was excited for this movie when the teaser dropped. But the songs were pretty bad apart from that BGM . The songs are almost non existent compared to something what Stree 2 did. Every song was a banger . I lost interest hence . I might still watch it later on OTT.

To assess the quality of storytelling in the popular pan-Indian action films from both Hindi and South Indian cinema that have gained mainstream attention post-pandemic, consider watching ten of them consecutively; you will find them to be quite similar. ~Anurag Kashyap

@050138 he does needs to make a comeback with a great movie like his OG days and not through these interviews yes...I agree with you but my guy he is not wrong with pan India films I means not just the films that got massive success but even those who tried to project and aim their films as pan indian film that will cause if it's a mediocre films....I will put Baahubali 1 and 2 out because I truly believe it's telegu Cinema's Magnum Opus and genuinely told a very good story...but one common theme you'll find in these films be it the films you mentioned or even Devara, Jawan, Pathaan, Kabzaa, Liger, Kanguva, Martin, and Many more the similarities are Extremely Loud and Irritating background music to a point it's deafening, A terribly wasted villian, Absence of Basic logic, Physics Defying stunts, Problematic Romantic themes of coating and Falling in love with a girl, unnecessary jump cut to a song, over celebration of the protagonist...these are the similarities you mentioned the basic plot of the movies that truly doesn't even justify its own theme...... Pushpa and Kgf: A rise and fall story, Terribly wasted villian, extremely loud bgm, physics defying action no uniqueness to it, over celebration of Protagonist, Problematic Romantic themes and girl coating process RRR: An SS rajamouli spectacle, uniqueness to his genre, visual action feast amazing anti hero Arc of Ram Charan, beautiful relationship I agree still over celebration of our leads, extremely loud background music, terrible casting of white actors and a waste in the name of a villian but still it's one of better Indian action films and not at all close to be a perfect film just because US went head over heels for it we have previously seen films like this Jawan & Pathan: bad villian in jawan, good villian in pathaan wasted Terribly in the end, extremely loud bgm 😂, patriotic touch like RRR, physics ki maa ki behen stunts Kalki and Brahmastra: average to good first impression of a fantasy or sci fi genre similarities are terribly written protagonist be it Shiva or Bhairava (nicely written badly acted), glimpses of a promising villian but bad to average villains in the form of Mouni Roy and Chatterjee, some good visuals rest all are copy pasted from star wars, mad Max, district 9, avatar the last Airbender just like Telugu cinema movies stunts are copied by Hong Kong 80s cinema... Animal - absence of basic logic, again some physics defying stunts, a villian terribly wasted in the form of Bobby Deol (no matter how much you overhype him) though film is far from a mass commerical action film but still loud bgm, problematic romantic themes, the film doesn't even justify its core theme of father son dilemma..... I hope you must have understood and the biggest similarities or weakness of all these films and terrible ones that I mentioned that they are always Style over substance......a promising story but disappointing execution this where Lokesh Kanagraj thrives with Kaithi and Vikram (finest mass commerical spectacle with amazing villian great bgm, amazing hope for part 2 a solid protagonist, badass female characters....I hope I made myself clear you pointed their basic plot and themes I told you the similarities in execution Now if you can find differences in the execution of Malayalam cinema movies mostly this year's only Be it Brahmayugam, Kishkindha Kandaam, Marco, Rifle Club, Goat Life, Aavesham, Manjummel boys, Tance, Malik, Kumbalangi nights....go ahead and find similarities watch them all in a row you'll be witnessing only great Stories with varied genres and varied execution and a total justification to it's themes If you have read this comment till the very end then thanks for your time brother cheers.....I rest my case. 🙏
