My baby is almost 6 months and is always trying to grab my food so I've been looking into how to introduce solids. This was so helpful thank you!

Thank you for the video. Also, please don’t forget about the papas too. I notice a lot of parenting videos say this is for the mamas and forget to mention the papas. Just offering my help 💓

This was good stuff! Our daughter is 10 months and we started purreed (homemade)food at 5 months. She gave it up basically at 7 or 8 months and wanted to feed herself. I find it a hard challenge to get things soft enough for her, especially carrots! And some days I worry that she's not eating enough but like you said...food before 1 is kinda just for play. Thanks!

Very Helpful! I definitely was feeling pressure about deciding to try BLW. I recently heard of this method and had already bought glass containers for the puree foods I thought I would be making for my baby. However, after doing more research and seeing your video and a few other videos I'm definitely excited about this next stage. Thank you!

My son is now 6 months old and just started BLW, but he just squashes and drops the food on the floor and doesn't carry it into his mouth. Should I just be patient for the first few months? I'm not sure if I should just watch him until he feels like eating or I should do something to help him eat...

@LovedHappy6 жыл бұрын
No it didn’t affect her sleep and she wasn’t constipated either. Giving her lots of fruits veggies beans etc makes for great digestion :)

My 10 month old wants nothing to do with food he grabs at ours but when we offer it he turns away. He’s exclusively breastfed any suggestions ? He’ll only eat a couple spoonfuls each meal

Hiyya My baby is 7 mnths and it's the same thing. You are doing well, keep going. Go at your babies pace, introduce more gradually. That's what I hope to do.

I’d love to know if you started with breakfast, lunch and dinner? And when you added another meal, for example if you started with dinner, when did you add lunch? Or breakfast? And did you give them spices/seasonings on any of their foods like the steamed veggies or anything? I just started my son on solids on the 29th of September. He’s had avocado 4 times, banana a couple times, and steamed sweet potato last night bc that’s what I had on hand lol. And how long did you do just fruits/veggies before introducing things like pasta, crackers, etc?

Misty Phillips go check out the channel called CullenandKatie they have done baby led weaning with their son that turned 1 back in the fall. He is a champ at eating and boy can he eat.
@motherhoodforhisglory7 жыл бұрын
Ezra is the EXACT same..if I put 20 pieces of banana in front of him he would try and put all of them in his mouth in the one go! Still makes me nervous lol! We did a bit of a mixture of purees and not pureed food..so I wouldn't exactly call it baby led weaning..it was kind of a mix.. I didn't really know much about BLW to be honest! xx

hahah it kind of drives me crazy sometimes!😂 That's awesome! Everyone kind of finds their own way! I think baby led weaning is a sort of trend in a sense that has been gaining popularity?! It makes a lot of sense what you did! :)

My baby is 7.5 old and he doesn’t have any tooth yet, so is it ok to give him finger food? By the way he gags when food is not smashed really good, I am scared so much that he is choking.
@firststepnut6 жыл бұрын
Yes! Babies can eat soft foods well with just their gums
@meiraloraduncan89536 жыл бұрын
It is perfectly safe to give it to a baby without teeth because they will gum it until it’s soft enough. Their gums are very strong. As he eats he will make gagging and chocking noises as he gets to know where his gag reflex is located. With babies it is much higher up in their mouth than an adult’s gag reflex. Watch more videos like this one to learn more about it and so you feel comfortable with trying it with your baby.

What should I do if the baby only plays with the food and doesnt put it in her mouth.
@JV-hr1wq5 жыл бұрын
M Rodriguez then she’s not interested and that’s fine. The whole point of BLW is that they will start on their own when they are ready.

My daughter wasn’t interested either. We tried a few times, but she was almost 10-11 months old before she really showed interest in food. I knew nothing about baby led weaning back then. She wasn’t a fan of puréed food except for organic green beans with potatoes. She didn’t get any teeth until she was 1 year old. After we introduced baby food she suddenly became more interested in our food and I started giving her small pieces to gum and she loved it. She was doing great with the foods were giving her until someone gave her a taste of fast food and it wasn’t long after that she started getting more picky. Thankfully she did out grow that stage.

My sons 5 1/2 months and I'm so stressed 😩. I was told to give the stage 1 baby food but my son just won't eat it. I wanna try blw but I'm so scared
@LovedHappy7 жыл бұрын
+Christina Paliotta oh no don’t be stressed! What are you afraid of? Just keep educating yourself, about Baby led weaning, infant cpr etc. and you will probably feel less afraid! I was nervous too but started with small bits of mushy food because that was something I felt comfortable with and we never had any scares. It’ll be okay! 💕💕

did you give her the whole beans, or did you cut them in half ?

Whole, but I started by mashing them a little because that’s what i felt comfortable with. I also stuck with softer beans (no garbanzo/chick peas to start)
