Abby - you are correct. Birds do add items suck as shells, berries and stick to their nest only for decoration to attract a mate and when sitting on their eggs. I learned something new. ❤ Another reason why I love this podcast.

I noticed your comment about saving people over animals, I work in animal protection and I just thought I would add some thinking points to this comment. This is meant as informative / food for thought: It’s important to save / protect animals for a number of reasons; 1. Our planet requires ecosystems to function correctly, without correct ecosystems, that includes flora and fauna we will not survive. 2. Animals deserve our guardianship and husbandry, they do not have a voice that we can understand, there are so many animals that are suffering because of industrial decisions of humans, people who are advocating for animals are acting for their rights that they cannot protect. 3. Animals are proven to be sentient beings, they have emotions, they feel pain and they can feel fear, distress and perform complex tasks. They are deeply vulnerable to human activity such as mining, deforestation, fishing etc if we let everyone do what they want in nature and not care what happens to all creatures, this planet will die. Each creature exists on earth for a reason, as each one dies off, the lower our chance of environmental recovery is 4. Domesticated and farmed animals require us humans to help them, we have bred them to be dependent on us, they cannot thrive on the street or in feral populations. Stray cats and dogs spread disease, suffer from malnutrition, get into fights, suffer from severe animal abuse due to overpopulation and fear of disease. As humans we are 100% at fault for what is happening to our domestic and farmed animals around the world. They didn’t choose to become this way, we have created animals for a purpose that need us to protect them. Just as an interesting fact 75% of the world’s dog population are stray. This is why rescuing, spay / neuter and vaccination programs are essential. I hope this helps explain if not for ethical reasons, for the ecological reasons why animal protection is critical. Humans should 100% receive help but we are not the only living beings on this planet, and we cannot survive without all creatures being happy and healthy. Congratulations on your new baby and I wish you much health and luck in the coming months.

75%?!?! 😢 I’m literally bawling crying. Hardcore ugly cry! Poor pups ❤ I’ll be giving Tobi (my very precious 6 year old mini schnauzer) some extra lovins tonight. I lost my twin girls 16 days apart then found out it was bc I had 4 types of cancer and was whisked in for a for an emergency full, radical hysterectomy. So I’ll never have the chance to be a mommy… which is what I’ve wanted since I started babysitting at 12 (SO young at the time, I don’t know how anyone’s mama would trust me with thier children when I was TWELVE years old! 🤣😂🤣) now I teach Sunday school, I’m auntie to all my friends children. But basically bc of that Tobi is soooo spoiled! He IS my baby! Anyone who says “it’s just a dog” definitely do NOT understand MY situation. But I love all the info… it just makes me so sad. 75 friggin% ?!?!?Heartbreaking!!! ❤️🩹 Thank you for the education ❤ I know I really appreciate it! ❤

Mothers need a 'village', it's so natural to be with our elders and support each other. Parenthood isn't inherently hard, it's todays society that makes it so, because we don't have communities! You guys are amazing x

I agree!! A lot of the elders in my relatives are stuck and a childlike mentality and a lot of times it best to care for them from a distance.. I wouldn’t even consider them family. But then all the weight falls on me. There’s no village. It makes me appreciate myself in a whole another level. And my relationship with god is just flourishing. So I would say it’s a hard win but a win overall.

Abby you just opened my eyes and saved me. “You can’t be 100% all the time for your kids but everyone can be 100% for a little while” I feel terrible asking for help, and what you said now makes me feel like asking for help is actually what’s best for my child regardless of how hard that is for me. Abby! I'm also a first time parent and our babies are a few days a part. You're totally right about the sadness that comes with their birthday. Everyone talks about how we should cherish the time and how quick it goes, but no one talks about the profound sense of sadness that comes when they do hit these milestones. Which isn't to say we aren't excited for them and want to celebrate with them, but the flip side is that those moments are now gone. Helping our tiny humans grow is such a rollercoaster and I feel like as parents we do nothing but grow alongside them. Thank you SO MUCH for even mentioning this because it should be normalized and talked about more ❤

I’m v emotional like you (all the time, all my life). You are male & female & there will always be differences and not always (if ever) alignments in thoughts, feelings, wants. Women need to feel and be proud of the way they are, same with men, each honouring & respecting the differences whether of gender or character, no steamrolling please! I haven’t seen Griffin properly yet so am looking forward to seeing a birthday video (🎉🎉🎉). Good luck for the birth all of you, didn’t realise it was so imminent. I think a lot don’t because people are so opinionated and sometimes flat out rude, seeing the negativity from anyone who didn’t like the name might taint how the parents feel about the name and cause them to have second thoughts. If there’s a name you absolutely love, and then hundreds of people tell you it’s terrible, I’m sure your feelings and excitement about the name comes down.

Thank you for being organic and stripping it down to, I realize I don't have a lot of control. We ALL HAVE FELT THIS, and it's ok!! Your love for Abby and your family is obvious. You treasure them, but, you still kinda question what we can control vs what is fate, or uncontrollable. I'm a fly by the seat of my pants person, and I don't need to feel in control. However, what I do need is to feel secure, safe, and loved. I see you give this to each other. Just remember, yes, we can try to plan, but, when things go sideways the only thing you can control is your response to it. Don't react, respond. Much love to you guys and your newest little branch in your family tree. FYI, my newest granddaughter is due within the next 12 days!!!!

My parents moved in with us when I had my son and I’m so glad for it! I felt into a chronic (out of nowhere) depression and the being here for me (physically and for moral support and love) probably saved my life. They left after almost 5 months when I was on my feet and on my way to recover! In another note it’s ok to be in “hiatus” relationship when kids are little but be careful and monitor your couple relationship often because if you don’t nourish it often it can go south and just being focused on the kids. Make sure to talk about your feelings for each other and have special dates and romantic get aways. Best of luck to you guys!! 👶🏼 🍼👶🏼

Matt and Abby, you’re such a gorgeous sweet couple, with a beautiful family. I LOVE both of your beautiful boys names, Griffin and Auggie. They are going to be the very best of mates. So incredibly special. I LOVE how you look at books with Griffin already. So many parents don’t now days and I work in a Primary school and you most definitely can tell. It makes a MASSIVE difference for the child. So awesome job again Mum and Dad. As far as feeling a little sad when your children reach a certain age/milestone etc, I used to feel exactly the same way. I used to think to myself that they’ll NEVER be a week old again, or six months old, two years old etc, but my sister in law said to me one day, ‘Trace, every stage throughout their life is special.’ And I absolutely would agree with that. It most certainly is. You’re so so right when you mentioned about what you were like together and how you are now. Of course you would still be incredibly affectionate with each other, but as time goes by, in your marriage, you kind of fall/have a much deeper love or connection. That’s the beauty of marriage I think. It’s kind of hard to explain I suppose. Anyway I am so thankful that I came across your KZbin channel and therefore your podcast. As I’ve already mentioned, you’re a beautiful young couple, with a gorgeous family. Keep being you and doing what you’re doing because it’s so wonderfully awesome. Sending much love, huge hugs and the very best wishes for everything to go perfectly when you bring little Auggie Jacob Howard into this big wide wonderful world. Following you from Melbourne Australia♥️♥️♥️

Love you two so much for your realness. Auggie is a great name. He has the option to be more formal when he enters the working world. I am grateful I could do that. I started going by my full name after high school. Have yet to meet one person with my name, and I love that. Congrats again!!

Nesting is done by mama bird to protect the eggs and each mama has it own style So in case of a pregnant women they tend to nest as it is a natural instinct to protect their little ones All animals do this....but in their own way ❤

Time is such a weird thing. When we're in the middle of something, it feels like it's been a long time, but when it's over we realize how fast it all went by. People have always told me that Highschool will go by so fast but I didn't really feel that way until now.
