Love this!! Thank you for the update!! It was nice to see mama and baby doing well. I still think Jarang has a disability of some sort. He's underdeveloped and struggles with controlling his movements. I think Jinga is doing the best she can under the circumstances and it was nice to see them thriving. Baby and mama seem happy. I am rooting for these 2! Loved the update... Thank you AT!

@NEWz206 I disagree with you. She might be inexperienced and it shows through some of her actions but Jarang is 8 months old. His stiff and awkward body movements is not because mama is inexperienced. It's very obvious that he's not developing normally... Blaming it all on the mother because she's inexperienced is ludicrous. Babies will continue to hit milestones even if the upbringing isn't ideal... Jarang is not hitting those milestones. He can't even sit up on his own...

Wow❣️🤩 Look at our little man go❣️ He’s so alert, has a nice round belly, is sitting up by himself and looks like he’s ready to crawl. Mama seems to be quite enchanted by her little boy. ❤ I think that little by little, Jarang is teaching Jingga how to be a Mummy. ❤❤ I always had faith that they’d work it out together and I still do. He’s definitely a bit wobbly, but hopefully that will improve as his muscles get stronger. I wonder if he was born a little prematurely? That might explain why his development has been a bit slow. No doubts at all though that he’s well-loved. ❤ Thank you SO much Ape Tracker for this fantastic update. 👏👏🙏🙏😃

Thank you for the update. He does look a lil chubbier. That's great. He's falling backward and has the strength to pull himself up to sit. Im very impressed. When will he be one? He is behind on the milestones, but i think when he gets more mobile, he will make up the time. Im not going to give up on Jinga and Jarang. We dont like how things have been handled by the zoo, also the way Jinga carries him and her having no experience. (Im meaning no disrespect. I value everyones opinions and feelings, and by no means am i trying to tell ppl what to do. Or hurt anyone, or get them upset) I think maybe it's time for everyone to accept this is the way it is going to stay. A lot of us have reached out to the zoo, and other people we know of that could have helped, and they were not permitted to get involved. Which makes me have all different sorts of feelings about it. But what can I do now? Im going to stay positive and put my energy into watching all the videos and other videos i can find of them and hope that once he figures out how to sit up all the way, then next thing should be crawling and walking. Then he can get bigger and stronger. Thank you so much for visiting them and updating us. Your the best and im so grateful you visited. Thank you again!

Yes, I agree I have been watching Chester Zoo's baby Orangutan and Jarang is behind in development although like humans all animals develop at a different rate and the mother Sarikei at Chester Zoo is very experienced at raising babies. I will say that during my visit there was a Zoo Keeper attending to them all day with food, cleaning and communicating with mother. Thanks for watching and for the great comment. 🥰
@nellieb943410 ай бұрын
I'm glad you said something about Sarikei lil baby. I was thinking he was behind but I could not remember when he was born. So I chalked it up to being recently born. When was Jarang born again? At Chester Sarikei lil boy date of birth? I wonder when the will name him. Do the keepers know why he might be behind? Thank you again.
@Axalotal10 ай бұрын
I fully agree with you. It was mind-boggling how the zoo refused any outside help or kept the worrying public informed. Jingga is not the only mother to carry her baby weirdly. From the experts I talked with at the time, it was because Jarrang would not grip his mother properly. At no time was he in danger of being transported by foot. It is unconventional and looks terrifying at first and even second glance. All of his fans hope you are right about one day just surprising all of us and blowing past his missed milestones. They are both adorable and we all just want them to live their best life. Even with all the problems it is clear that they are.

I haven't spoken to keepers recently about his progress but if I am thinking for what it is worth that it is due to his mother not teaching him the early skills and not pushing him to explore by climbing. I also think that he may have possibly been born prematurely. I cannot confirm this though. 🥰

I think he’s way behind other baby orangutans. I like seeing all his limbs moving instead of tense and frozen in time. Thank you for this encouraging new post! I hope the next time you visit J&J that you will have an opportunity to film Jarang's rear limbs. In past clips I always noticed that when being carried on Jingga's foot, he could wrap his legs around her ankle but didn't seem to be able to flex his feet enough to cling to her as he did with his hands. Have wondered if he has some disability there and, if so, whether he will be able to recover from or compensate for it as he grows. In any event, it is a great relief to see him looking brighter and healthier. I know I speak for many J&J fans in expressing the hope you will keep us posted with new clips. Again, thank you for sharing your observations of these fascinating orangutans.

I'm so glad to see them again. Jarang does look better, seems like he had the strength in his torso to pull himself up a couple of times when he laid back. He keeps his little fists clenched so tightly, I notice he's been doing that for a long time. He's a cute little guy. I bet he will catch up with his peers at some point, you are right that babies of all kinds develop at a different rate of speed. Popo was starting to climb a little bit around this age, I wonder when Jarang will get to that point. It seems like once they start to climb the development tends to take off at that point.

U człowieka to najczęstsza z wad rozwojowych i czasem sama mija. Moze jednak powodować ból podczas napinania mięśni i jak siedział na stopie mamy to widocznie mniej marudził. Mnie martwi opóźnienie w rozwoju. Nie należy jednak winić matki, pracowników ZOO ani opiekuna. Poprostu ślepy los, okoliczności ciążowe i porodowe, mutacje genowe. W naturze nie miałby szansy a Zoo pomoże mu żyć.

I am so glad you updated us. I am so, very thankful for that! I still think there might be a medical issue with Jarang. This could cause him to be delayed by his age group for orangutans. It could also explain why the zoo hasn't stepped in to teach Jingga to be a mother, as she may be doing her best if something is medically wrong with Jarang. Orangutans can get the same mental and physical illnesses, conditions, and deformities as humans. We will know for sure whether it's just inexperienced mothering from Jingga or whether Jarang has something medically wrong with him in a few more months.

Ten sposob noszenia wybrała bo mniej marudzil.

I did not see these gorillas before today, to me it seems that the baby is a bit underweight, he/she is hungry. Now I am not sure when it becomes okay to just lay down the baby in the hay, crying while mom goes off to get food for herself. I wonder where is the zoo while it seems baby is not getting enough food. 😥

Can she breast-feed him? I’m not sure if she was at her mother. This is my first time watching.
