Clever opening! Looks fairly normal sized on the thumbnail.... then "Nooo! Giant Rodney grabs the stool!"

I was thinking of setting toy furniture around it to make it look that it was in a normal setting, until I stepped in :)

+RodneyJantziReedOrgan *The Baby Organ would probably get my "You call **_that_** a harmonium?" response - I reckon that **_somebody_** could shoehorn a chromatic II/6 into half scale.* Three bass and three treble stops per manual (16', 8' and 4' reed ranks; bass F2-F4, treble F#4-F6), plus an upper-to-lower coupler on a knee lever. Don't know whether reliable sub/super couplers could be built at half scale.

The problem with adding any more reeds to this little thing is that the size of the wind system would not support it, it can barely handle what it has already. Also, the reservoir is so small it cannot regulate the wind, which causes the reeds to not stay in tune.

This is great, lol! I realised it was going to be small, but I had no idea just how small!

Are the sharps and flats painted on there? It looks like it from the angel of the camera! Ha!!
@ReedOrgans2 жыл бұрын
Yes! They are only painted on. I am stuck playing everything in the key of C with no sharps or flats :)

Didn't I see one on the Estey Museum Video?
@ReedOrgans2 жыл бұрын
There was one there, but those are much larger than this one. However, the Estey 'baby' style organs sound and operate ten times better!

Is there a good way to fix cracked reeds? I have my grandmas old Audion chord organ and it has a few quiet notes as well as a messed up key, I'd like to fix it as it's one of the better sounding and better equipped chord organs out there
@ReedOrgans2 жыл бұрын
Once the reeds are cracked, they cannot be repaired. The tongues could be removed and a new tongue could be filed to the exact size and thickness to fit in the frame reach the correct pitch, but it takes experience to do that. Some of those earlier chord organs used accordion reeds which would be available from an accordion tech person, if they were damaged (in most cases they are just plugged with dirt). I could be mistaken, but I think this organ I used to have would be similar to a Audion: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKPImKympraMoqs
