Baby Please Don't Go - James Clem

Written by Big Joe Williams and recorded by him in the 1930's. The guitar is a vintage Gibson L-00. James has just released a studio version of this song on his "Stuff You Gotta Watch" CD in June 2019. You can now hear James Clem's music on Pandora Radio, Spotify, Apple Music and his CD's are available via mail order at CD Baby. Hey BoyCary, I found out recently that this Gibson L-00 is a 1942 World War 2 era model. This has a leftover Kalamazoo top (with the light colored ring on the inside edge of the soundhole)...no rosette) that they put on a few L-00's. It has X bracing (Kalamazoo's were ladder braced).

Hey James that's a sweet lookin L-00. Your doin a great job of playin it too. I have been wanting one myself so I will have an acoustic guitar in my collection. Gibson has a reissue model in connection with Guitar Center called the L-100 pro.. It has a blonde sitka spruce top & brown mahogany body for $2,000 plus a J C Baggs pickup.

Your so great. I hope I keep alive long enough to get as good as you James. I play that song on my 61 Casino Electric. I want a Gibson L-00 37 model. But they are $5,500. Good grief vintage ones are cheaper. My sliver Duco NRP 14 is a faithful copy of the tansition Duolian, with a really great tone. I want an acoustic wood body hower. So I got my eyes pealed for an old Gibson L-00. regards, Cary

so smooth and precised and what an amazing guitar they made some truly amazing guitars in the late 30s ta mid 40s I'm wanting to buy a d'angelico Masterbuilt but I'm really wanting 1 from the 40s and I want 1 that's had some repairs I'm not looking for 1 that's in PERFECT CONDITION cause those are like $25,000 on up I'm just looking for 1 that's from about 1941-1944 that's had a few repairs 1 that would cost 3,000 grand or less if anyone knows where I could find 1 please let me know.
