During the breeding season, from November until January, we can’t conduct rescues as usual. We have to be very careful and avoid running into the herd of seals to rescue those entangled. The baby seals are very vulnerable at this time. Newborns cannot swim for the first few weeks; they would drown, and they can easily get crushed by the adult seals running to the water.
