Performing a rescue on a platform is not easy. We have to be very fast, or else the seal will make it to the edge and disappear into the ocean. Frequent flyer "Cyclops", whom we had to rescue multiple times, looks healthy and strong since our last meeting with him. Cape fur seals are extremely resilient animals. It helps to remember that an entanglement will eventually kill them, but if it is removed, then their recovery is quite likely.
