@@areader2253 i think this is one of the reasons Western interviewers have to send in their questions to Babymetal management beforehand to be approved. It's too easy for them to ask dodgy questions and take advantage of the language barrier to make the girls look stupid. I loved Su's answer anyway, it was honest and light-hearted and subsequently made him look like a prick. The Japanese interviews are able to be much more in-depth and full of personality

Yes, I am in the male 60+ fan demographic, but it's because I like the music and their dancing. And maybe I haven't quite grown up yet. Current heavy metal generally bores me, but BabyMetal adds a fun element and is very visual. I started out laughing at this bizarre group I saw on KZbin and ended up being a fan. Thanks! Frankly, BabyMetal's costumes seem designed to be un-provocative. Which is good, because BabyMetal is about the music and the dancing. There are plenty of other Asian girl groups that rely on cute-looking girls and sexy outfits only. I've mentioned elsewhere that my turning point (from mocker to fan) was watching Gimme Chocolate at about 1:18 in, when their side-to-side moves start with Su in back. I thought, "Whoa - that's really coordinated! The two in front can't see what Su is doing, yet they are matching her moves perfectly. This is complicated stuff."
