⚡ 💕 👋 !🌸 / 💃 This was amazing as the opener for the LA Forum concert last October. That was the world debut (and album release concert). I was really impressed that they built the same kind of amazing stage for their first US arena concert as they have had in Japan for the big arena shows. That screen behind them was enormous. The music video also had footage from one of the Osaka Jo Hall shows in November. That's why the supporting dancer and stage setup keep changing. : )

I agree with you pretty much exactly. I didn't love the new song originally, but it's started to grow on me. The new album is a really eclectic mix of a whole bunch of crazy shit. Night Night Burn is heavily influenced by latin culture, Oh Majinai is folk/pirate metal and has Joakim Broden of Sabaton in it. Shanti has a lot of middle eastern influences, and the album version of Distortion has Aliisa White-freaking-Gluz from Archenemy on it. You'd think all of that would just be a mess, but it ended up being one of my favourite albums to come out this year. Too bad BxMxC is blocked for me, it's probably my favourite track on the album next to Kagerou. This is a bit of a bop, but one of my favourite bands growing up in Canada has always been Alexisonfire. They've been popular here for nearly twenty years, but I don't know how much reach they've had internationally. If you decide to check them out, I really love the lyrics and music video for Boiled Frogs. Loving the channel lately. EDIT: I'll throw a link in for you, just in case. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZjOfp97o51_aKc

Hi Leech! First things first; I love the new set up. As always, the depth of field and illumination are perfect. Secondly, the song makes a little more sense when you consider the album as a whole; it starts off with a light (more electronic, poppy) side and gradually transitions to a dark (more instrumental, heavy metal) side as the band travels though a musical galaxy. This song is the second one on the light side. That being said, the song isn't my favorite either, though I have heard it plays well live. Thirdly, Tak is a Japanese guitarist and the break down is his contribution to the song. Lastly, some of the footage is taken from the bands performance in Los Angeles so it quite possible that those fans are American (along with those who traveled from Japan and Europe to see the show).
@rickwagner-4 жыл бұрын
@Steven Colenso I can confirm that many of the fans at the LA Forum were American, myself included. : ) Although Callie Sakura and Lilly Makkusu, who are on screen near the beginning of the song, are both from the UK.

@@rickwagner- How cool is it that Callie got a such a prominent shot in this video? I can't really think of a more deserving fan in the UK. I am so excited for the Legend Galaxy concerts coming soon. Sounds like they will be epic. I hope some pro footage is released eventually.

Leech, if you are looking for more Babymetal songs, try Onedari Daisakusen or Yava!. The best videos are found on Bebimetl's Vimeo page so you might have a to do some sort of link and sync. The videos are titled "OD@SSA" and "I Can't Stop Thinking About It", respectively. There is also the Headbanger performance from the Legend M concert (titled "Hatachi No Yoru O") that is really worth reacting to.

Good reaction and I think I agree with all you said, although I'm not so sure the guitar solo (Tak Matsumoto's contribution to the collaboration) doesn't fit. It isn't my favourite song either (it is good but this is one I struggled with a bit at first, purely because it isn't really to my taste ... but as always the live performance made it so much better for me). As with other recent Babymetal videos this has the studio audio over footage from live shows, in this instance at the Forum in LA (octagonal stage) and one of the shows in Japan in November (triangular stage) - and Su's vocals are not messed with and over-processed (as much at least) in the live performance. As you said, she doesn't need that. However, the first half of the album (the light or sun side) does contain a lot more electronics than they usually have and I think that is a deliberate choice and is a part of the concept of the album as a whole. Tak Matsumoto has not appeared at any of their shows or performed this with them live (yet at least) so that explains why, unlike F Hero in 'Pa Pa Ya', he didn't feature in the video.
@rickwagner-4 жыл бұрын
@Grington300 300 I'm positive the Japanese performance was at Osaka Jo Hall, with Riho supporting. There's a brief glimpse of the ceiling in the music video. They had the same kind of stage setup at SSA, but Momoko did both of those shows.

Unfortunately in my view, they used studio audio for the video rather than using live audio recording. As Rick Wagner says, it must be amazing to hear it live, without vocal tweaks. BabyMetal stage technicians are amazing as they sync up Su and Moa and the Kami Band plus there is a lot of backing tape, well it would all be digital these days. It is so well done and for us avid fans who can't get to see them live, I trawl through fan cams, we get to hear the true live sound rather than post produced live DVD's. The post produced DVD's are excellent with wonderful audio clarity and first class video.

Tak Matsumoto did the breakdown, might be why it didn't fit. I didn't fall in love with the song first off, but of all the songs on Metal Galaxy this is the one that gets stuck in my head. What I did love is Moa rapping and taking center stage while Su switched to dancing. More Moa would make the group stronger It sounds better live without all the auto tune; and the footage for the video comes from two concerts, one at the LA Forum so the crowd shots are mixed US and Japan.
Try to listen to "Distortion" from the new album. It is excellent! Or "Shanti Shanti Shanti". It is two very different songs from Babymetal!

To be honest, I didn't expect you to like this at all, just because it's not that Metal. The new album is very experimental, probably even more all over the place than the earlier ones. In this one they took 80s (or 90s?) dance music and even included a traditional "wooh" sample. Unfortunately (in my opinion) they use pitch effects quite a lot. Not because Su's singing requires it, but just as an effect. I'm not really a fan of that, I like her voice as pure as possible (like in the song "Shine" from that album, aaaahhhhh....). But since it's an electronicky song, it fits, i guess.
@LeechTMReacts4 жыл бұрын
I really like a lot of different genres, 80s, electronics, drum n bass, metal, hip hop etc. I just cant stand reggae and folk music. 😂
@otacon10244 жыл бұрын
Agreed 100%, Shine is my favorite song from that album mostly because it has the "purest" vocals. Too many effects on her voice are pretty much blasphemy, and the new album has a ton of them all over. That being said, still like most of it, but Shine is just glorious.
@MacTaipan4 жыл бұрын
@@otacon1024 Haha, I‘m also using the word blasphemy a lot in this context. But in the end it would take a lot more than that to make a BABYMETAL song less than great. And as I said, it mostly fits the music of that album, so it‘s OK. But apart from Shine, Brand New Day and the studio version of Kagerou really stand out to me for that reason.

Good reaction my friend. This song wasn't my favourite to start with either, but like Steven Colenso in the comments said, it makes a lot of sense for the theme of the album with it starting light for the first half and then transitioning into a more heavy (dark) side for the second half of the album. Either way, you can't deny the energy of this track and it's actually grown on me quite a bit. I really enjoy listening to it now. So Metal Galaxy is split, 1st half more electronic dance and 2nd half more metal. This is Track #2, first full song on the album, and by the title its definitely dance style. As for the video, its a combination of 2 live shows. One in Japan and the other is from the performance at the Forum in LA. I forgot all the songs you've done so far but 2nd half of the album has official videos for Distortion, Pa Pa Ya, and Starlight. The girls aren't in Distortion or Starlight, they are just pure music videos and you've done Pa Pa Ya already.

it shows how prejudiced people are. If the same song was performed by a western band (and there are plenty of similar songs, because its a typical pop-edm song).
