Have been on tour with Metallica, Red hot Chilli Peppers, Guns and Roses , Korn performed on stage with Rob Halford and opened for Judas Priest and had Sabaton open for them in Japan . done sell out world tours and recently performed in Moscow and St Petersburg as part of European leg and LA Forum in US as part of world tour . Won best live act twice and the lead singer Su Metal goddess twice and numerous other awards to many to mention . There latest album reached number 1 in billboard metal charts and inde charts . Has that has not got you curious . Babymetal love to mess with peoples heads. :) If you listen to more songs you will realize just how talented a vocalist the lead singer, Su-Metal, is and what great performers they all are. Their live shows have been compared to Rammstein as far as production value. They don't even have a live band in this video. The skeleton people with the instruments are faking it. They do have a live band now and are high quality musicians. They are a very diverse band that incorporates a lot of different genres of metal and other genres as well. Every song is different from the last and every song is different from the norm so you never know what you're gonna get with Babymetal.

Good honest reaction. The girls of Babymetal are very much aware that a lot of peoples' first reaction to them will be "WTF!" (especially when the first song they hear is 'Gimme Chocolate') and they quite enjoy that. As you've seen in the comments, there is a lot more to them than this - and as a rock and metal fan of several decades I can honestly say Babymetal has replaced bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Megadeth, Metallica and a couple of other big and less well known names as my favourite band of all time. I see a lot of recommendations for you to watch 'Road of Resistance' next - a good suggestion. I will also throw 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (you can call it IDZ) into the mix and specifically a performance from their first overseas trip outside of Asia. Aged 16 and just turned 15 they opened the main stage at Sonisphere metal festival in the UK as unknowns - and they won over 50-60,000 UK metalheads with just 5 or 6 songs. I loved your reaction! Hope you do more BABYMETAL. Just to clear things up a bit, this song is their second most ridiculous song (Oh Majinai! took that crown recently). It's only uphill from here. Every song of theirs is different and cover a different genre of metal. It's a wild ride. I to recommend the Road of Resistance video they others in the comment are suggesting. For a metalhead, I would have started with that one. But its all good, GC eventually grows on you. It's just shocking on first listen.

I haven‘t checked your background, I‘m just going to assume you are a metalhead. I have been a metalhead since I was 15 (I‘m in my mid 40s now), my previous favourite band was Dream Theater, but for the last three years my live has been totally taken over by BABYMETAL. This song is not the best one to try and appeal to metalheads. BABYMETAL cover a wide range between Metal and J-Pop, some songs are more on one side, some more on the other. This one is pretty poppy, although it’s hard to deny that it’s quite heavy as well. And that’s what’s so great about it. They also incorporate a lot of other genres as well. But you‘ll always find the cute elements, and I love that about them. Not only the music is unique, the positivity is as well. I cannot stop smiling when I watch them. Best of all, they are an insanely entertaining live band. I‘m not quite sure what to make of your reaction. I‘m sure we can find a few songs that you’d like, but for now it looks to me like you won‘t become a fan. They‘ll always have the cute voices and the poppy elements, that’s what they are. If you don‘t like that, they are not for you. But I‘d be happy to be wrong. However things are going to turn out, thank you for being open about it. Hahaha. So someone threw a Gimme Chocolate at you for a first time ? It's a fun song but it's never a good first choice for a metalhead, because this song really confuses the hell out of people. The girls are well aware of the "WTF?" factor that this song has on people. However, do not throw them under the bus just yet and wait til you've heard a few more songs from them, I'm sure you will learn to appreciate them as you go along. I had the same reaction as you when I first watched this on youtube a few years ago and I had a quick laugh then forgot about it. I did not know the absolute GEM I was missing back then and I wish I could go back and slap my old self into watching more of them. They're now my favourite band by a landmile. I would suggest to quickly react to another song by them : BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance (Live in Japan). BABYMETAL is always better live. This is a music video montage of one of their shows on top of which they layered the studio audio. They always sound better live (except Glastonbury, never do Glastonbury !). Haa Haa! Nice honest reaction. I had the same "WTF" Babymetal 1st reaction back in 2015. I didn't know if I liked it or not. In time it grew on me. By their 3rd song of listing to them I was hooked. Lol. Babymetal fan base is HUGE and worldwide. During this time lead vocals Su was only 17. She is now 22. Yui & Moa who do back vocals or scream at the time were 15. They are now 20. As you have probably read this is not all BABYMETAL has to offer to say the least... Keep on watching more videos and you will see. BABYMETAL has recognition from many metal artists such as DragonForce Rob Halford, Korn, lamb of god etc... I even saw a picture with abbath (black metal band lol) so they at least worth checking out... Some facts: Wattattattatta zukkyun / dokkyun means literally the machinegun sound (zukkyun/dokkyun is the reload). Babymetal is 50% cuz they are "Babies", but in japanese heavy-metal is written He-bi-me-ta-ru and Babymetal Be-bi-me-ta-ru. In katakana writing the only difference are 2 apostrophs at the 1st letter. So its a kinda wordplay too.

It's a mindfuck the first time you see them, right? :P But the fox hole goes deep.. they have a lot of uniqueness and diversity in their discography.. keep going!! :) The main singer is actually incredible on vocals once you adjust.. she has a ton of range.. try and pick live videos from them, as you'll really see them at their best, their musicians are some of the best virtuosos in the world when they stretch their legs. Thanks for choosing to react to BABYMETAL, they're amazing! As someone who is new to the group, I thought I'd give you and your followers a little background on them. BABYMETAL is a Japanese Kawaii Metal group consisting of (for the most part) SU-METAL on lead vocals, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL on backing vocals/dancing, or "SCREAM AND DANCE" as they like to call it. I say 'for the most part' as Yui & Moa have a few songs that they do as duets without Su and Su has a few songs she does as solos whilst Yui & Moa take a well deserved break. They were formed in 2010 as part of the idol group Sakura Gakuin, before touring on their own in 2011 and have gone from strength to strength. They started singing to backing tracks with actors in skeleton suits pretending to play instruments (known as BABYBONES) but soon incorporated the Kami Band into their concerts, bringing them in full time at the end of 2013. The Kami Band consists of some of Japan's premier musicians on rotation based on availability. The most popular configuration consisting of Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka on guitar with Leda Cygnus as stand-in, BOH on bass and Aoyama Hideki on drums. These are the people you will see most often in videos. Since the untimely passing of Mikio at the end of 2017 they have enlisted the talents of Isao Fujita on guitar. At the end of 2018 YUIMETAL left the band because of health problems and in 2019 there are 3 girls named AVENGERS that will take her place in a rotating manner. Below is a list of some of their best performances that I hope you will consider for future reactions. Well, essentially, this is what happens when you take a J-Pop group and stick 'em in front of a seriously talented J-Metal band. . I mean, the girls were never a J-Pop group, but those 3 are Babymetal. The band is called the Kami Band, which is what they are dressed as - Kami - spirits. . This is a good starting point for them, but there's much better stuff by them. Actually, you'll be reacting to them in the future. The future for you, I mean, as you were in this video.
