You can find the best versions of most of their songs if you look for the Babymetal Reactor Resource and click on the video called 'Future Plans' ... in the description you will find a spreadsheet with everything you need and two versions of each song (one with a logo to put in your reaction, one without the logo for you to watch). The Legend M performance of 'Shine' is the one to watch if you use this. Alternatively For The Fox God has very good compilation videos for all three of the Trilogy of Lights ('Starlight', 'Shine' and 'Arkadia') that you should be able to use safely.

@@Grington300 I wouldn't call most of what's on there 'best versions'. I am specifically holding off on requesting a lot of their music, trilogy of Lights being one as they are actually being performed as the new trio now, including Starlight and Arkadia where were just performed at Legend MM.

Avoid reacting to any guides for now. Absolutely avoid the BM guide titled "Unhelpful Guide" uploaded by rnegitsune, it truly is unhelpful, and terrible. Cryptic Misery has the best guide out right now but it's years out of date, and there is a new guide in the works scheduled to drop in April (probably April 1st or 2nd). I also recommend Mirror Mirror Live at PIA Arena 2023. @@Hymnodic The Reactor Resource has live versions from the DVDs, those are among the best versions especially 'Shine' from Legend M.

​@@Grington300 A couple examples of not being the best. Monochrome is an old video from a live stream, not a Blu-ray, and Brand New Day is from Legend Metal Galaxy instead of the superior Budokan 2021. I could literally provide her a Google drive link with every song in Blu-ray format all subtitled, and the watermark for her to add to make it simple. BM Resource is outdated, and largely more hassle than it's worth.

It's probably about fifth or so on my fave BM songs. It's top 3 for Su's vocals in my opinion (along with Akatsuki and No Rain, No Rainbow)

Great reaction - you already know your audio was very quiet. As you may have guessed this is one of their least 'Metal' songs, but as always Su-metal's vocals are so good. Don't worry about rushing to react to everything, take your time and enjoy the journey through their catalogue.

For me L&D is another great pop rock ballad with beautiful SuMetal vocals piercing into our hearts. Love the J-pop sound from 2000 and the nostalgic vibes mixed with the edm sound. Here's some info about this song: _One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is "LIGHT AND DARKNESS" and this 4th pre-release digital single “Light and Darkness” centers around this theme. Because light exists, darkness also exists._ _And because darkness is present, there is also a world that shines._ _During the night when light and darkness intersect, what we seek after poisoned with darkness awaits a world filled with strong love. As the door opens, is it hope or despair that awaits us? The song expresses the duality in everything and the way things are perceived and interpreted differ depending on each person’s point of view._ This was a world premiere at BabyMetal Returns The Other One - Makuhari Messe 2023 setlist, along with "THE LEGEND". Later on during live concerts at PIA Arena MM Yokohama (April 1st - Fox Day and 2nd) they announced a new member, finally MomoMetal become official, and she's no longer an avenger, we were all happy for her.🍑❤️ Always try to aim for live performance but there are certain songs you would love to enjoy the official MV first without live sound instead, such Megitsune, Doki Doki Morning, Iine! or Karate. Awesome, I love this song, and Su absolutely kills it! It could be a good idea to react to a MV, then a newer live performance so you can see how they’ve grown! With that said, they only have ~12 music videos or so out of their 60+ songs. Suggestion: *Amore (Wembley 2016).* Su-metal solo. Use “Babymetal Reactor Resource” for a pre-logo’d version for copyrights. Beautiful “love ballad”, but very metal. 🤘🦊

I wouldn't classify it as rock. The guitar is too low tuned, drop G I think. It's not really pop either as pop is generally happy and up beat. I think lots of people have tried to classify the song, but it's really its own thing. The guitar itself sounds like something you would get out of doom metal if you strip away the rest of the instrumentation and vocals, and then you have a lighter piano and synth to contrast it going throughout. So the song itself is composed in a contrast of light and darkness.

That’s actually a pretty solid breakdown, I also can’t put this song in a “similar” category. But I guess you can say that about a lot of Babymetal songs 😂.

Ehh imo it's pretty straightforward jpop (/jrock but kinda same thing), just with guitars tuned lower than usual.

​@@hachikuji_mayoi I heavily disagree. I've broken the song down to its base instrument components and my description was very simplified. J-pop and j-rock guitars are more melodic, whereas here it's mostly simplistic chug chug, with interspersed melody. The piano is classical. The only j-pop aspect of this is some of the synth, as part of the synth is very doom-esque with synthesizer church bells or organ giving a dark feeling, you can hear them right as the dance music builds up before the guitar chugs.

@@HymnodicNot every jpop song with guitars has them riffing though, it's pretty common that they just exist to fill space. Piano is also extremely common. That post chorus section is very anime opening vibe even. I think it's a very well written and not generic jpop song but it still falls into the genre. I disagree with every song outside of the generic mold having to be classified as something different. edit: also I think the biggest difference it has is rhythmical

@@hachikuji_mayoi ​ Looks like YT decided to delete my reply. Just a summary, it is a guitar riff in L&D, a doom metal one. A riff is series of notes that are repeated. Your alternatives are shredding and licks, which this has licks as well. There's nothing catchy with the piano which you expect with pop music, it adds a light melancholy to the song.
