Great reaction - and everything obanhedoban.... already said about the Trilogy of Lights - also about the Babymetal Reactor Resource for full live performances. Talking of which you owe yourself a favour - watch the Legend M performance of 'Shine' - in my opinion possibly their most moving live performances of any song (there are other strong candidates for 'most moving' of course Stairway to Living Legend 'The One' sprang immediately to mind as I was typing) - and Su's best vocal performance too.

Yeah Shine is definitely one of their more beautiful songs. As some people mentioned in the comments of your last reaction, Starlight, Shine, and Arkadia are the "Trilogy of Lights" which express the emotional journey after losing someone. Starlight is those initial feelings of loss and anger, Shine is sorrow and acceptance, and Arkadia looks forward to a better future. I assume you'll probably be watching another compilation for Arkadia, in which case I would suggest using the one from the same channel as this one. Ferr makes the best BM compilations these days, though honestly I much prefer actual uncut live shows. If you want to look into doing that, check out the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel. Regardless of which option you choose, I'm looking forward to your Arkadia reaction! :)

This song is a tribute to one of their guitarist's " Mikio Fujioka " who passed away . If you read the lyrics to the song while watching the performance . It certainly will bring tears to your eyes .

Great reaction, thanks! In my opinion, this one of the finest works of Su-metal as a vocalist. She's pure passion! And the song is one of their best songs overall. Shine is easily my favorite song from after the Yui era. Ijime Dame Zettai is my favorite Yui era song. I saw Shine live at the Forum in LA and have always considered myself lucky and honored to have heard it. Beautiful song. And Su's voice... Incredible. Now I just need to hear IDZ live and my life would be complete.

Shine is one of my favourites as well. There are not that many songs on the album where we get to hear Su‘s voice that clearly without effects, and I love that. It’s even more obvious in the studio version. Sometimes the pure sound of her voice makes me cry during the first verse, it’s so angelic. And the amazing live visuals complement it perfectly.

⚡ 💕 / 🌟 ✨ Lots of feels in this one. The eclipse at the beginning and end of this song are strongly reminiscent of the apocalypse symbol they used during their "Dark Side" in 2018. Even the BABYMETAL flags were replaced with the apocalypse versions.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。As other viewers commented, this song moves everyone. Especially someone who has lost his or her beloved. We may see a hope amid a tough transition of life. It may look like "a mere bit of light" at the beginning but it could gradually intensify the luminance. This video is a compilation from two shows in 2019 and 2020. The musicians in the girls' back are West (American) Kamis : Chris Kelly (Guitar), C.J. Masciantonio (Guitar), Clint Tustin (Bass) and Anthony Barone (Drums). They are great as well as original East.

Legend M is the only performance for this song. While it has never been officially stated that this performance is a tribute to Mikio, after watching the Legend M performance I can draw no other conclusion. The love and respect Moa shows to that guitar brings me to tears every time I see it. Legend M's Shine is by far the most emotional Babymetal performance, ever. Full Stop.

This was my favorite song when Metal Galaxy came out. Nicely written with a great message. Then they preformed it live with the visuals and the choreography upped it 10 notches. Nice reaction. The choreography is at a high level here. They used Riho as the backup dancer for this reason. She is a very skilled and talented performer. With that said before moving on to Arcadia. Watch Shine from Legend M with just Su and Moa. IMO it shows the kids are gone and now full-grown adults. Moa commented on how they felt so connected during the performance it was like they were holding hands. For Moa to say this after around a decade of performing with Su is amazing. That's not just going through the motions and doing the choreography but shows how they give it all even after a decade of performing. A touching sentiment. Elevates the whole performance for me. Getting Riho Sayashi, the "Absolute Ace" from Morning Musume as a supporting dancer was a pretty impressive score. BABYMETAL's choreographer MIKIKO has talked about how important it was for the three chosen "avengers" to have a shared "DNA" with BABYMETAL. Riho and Su overlapped at Actors School Hiroshima (ASH), and of course Kano and Momoko came out of Sakura Gakuin, and are often considered among the best dancers from that group.

@@rickwagner- I'm in NYC so when I read Riho studied dance in NYC for a year. I wondered if I ever saw her here. Truth is the city is so overcrowded I would never know. I have seen lots of famous folks here but usually in NYC the famous folks are kind of just left alone. Not always but usually. I could have seen Riho in the street or even performing and didn't know it at the time. Today I might put the Kitsune up and keep walking. Those who know will get it.

Its hard to choose a fav Babymetal song but if I’m forced to, Shine would definitely be it. Whenever someone is mildly curious but unconvinced about Babymetal and all they heard was their earlier, more childlike “gimmicks”, Shine is where I go, “this what their music has evolved to”

Good reaction Sebs! Too bad you didn’t pick the Legend M performance of this song, that will hit you on a different level (I know, hard to believe xd). And you were absolutely right, the three songs are all part of the Trilogy of lights that is all about loss, acceptance and moving on. Let’s see what you think about Arkadia :) looking forward to it.
