Ratatata is a full 50/50 collab between Babymetal and Electric Callboy; both bands are playing it as part of their touring live sets. The video was probably put on Babymetal's KZbin channel because they have a lot more subscribers than Electric Callboy does. This collab started with Babymetal trying to make a song with the same kind of vibe as We Got The Moves, but it wasn't working, so they decided to ask Electric Callboy to help them. They met up last year when Babymetal went to Electric Callboy's show in Boston and they met backstage and got talking about collabing. The song went through around 20 demo iterations before they reached a final result that both outfits were happy with, and they only finalized it on the day of the video shoot when Babymetal went to Germany.

Good reaction. You clearly already know some Electric Callboy. 'RATATATA' is a straight collaboration between the two bands even though it is very much in the Electric Callboy style (and more "poppy" than most of BABYMETAL's songs - but that was what they were wanting to do with this when they proposed the collaboration to Electric Callboy). BABYMETAL do everything. That's one reason their collaborations all work so well, they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with. BABYMETAL formed in 2010 creating their own new metal sub-genre. They started as a fusion of Metal with J-Pop hooks, melodies and aesthetics including choreographed dance - but not as you know it. Their choreo is not used to titillate or distract like it is by most pop acts etc, it is interpretive, relating to the meaning of the song or a lyric - very handy for us non-Japanese speakers - but most importantly it is used to engage with, include and involve the audience. They are masters of crowd control and can get whole arenas (not just the front rows) jumping, chanting and joining in, following their lead. They did not stick at J-Pop and they have gone on to mix and blend so many more musical styles and genres with the metal. They have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last. Some are good hard metal (and they have songs in virtually every metal genre), some may lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between.

Thanks from Japan, the homeland of BABYMETAL 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 🤣. On Day-1, the girls and Nico / Kevin hugged each other (then group hug) to celebrate the success of the live debut (heartwarming!!) ★ You can find the official LIVE video in KZbin !! The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. Now the 3 girls and 2 boys are doing this song with EC band in EC shows and with Kami Band in BM shows, in two ways, sometimes independently sometimes together in some European festivals including Rock Im Park & Rock Am Ring last month 💛。

Just so you know: In the Breakdown, you hear two "Are you ready". No.1 was from Kevin No.2 was from MomoMetal, Babymetals newest Bandmember and their Growler. She also does the two "Everybody" at the end.

Basing this off your comments regarding seeing Electric Callboy, going to assume it was at Sonic Temple this past May? If so gotta say, that was a great live show, was there myself about 5-10 rows back from the barrier. They then released this only a few days later and got me started down the Babymetal Foxhole. As Grington stated, while Babymetal have J-pop elements, they are very much metal and mix loads of other genres into their songs, yet somehow, it just works for them. To get started down the Foxhole, I would suggest Road of Resistance Live in Japan as has already been suggest by IAMisLove. Probably one of the best performances, showing not only the Kami Band (Babymetal's backing band) but also the crowd control and interaction they have. To also give some insight before hand for the video and to set the tone, Su-Metal (Lead vocalist) was only 17, Moametal and Yuimetal (Backing Vocals) were only 15, in front of a crowd of 20,000 and the guitar arrangements for the studio version were done by Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce. Yui left the band in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues so isn't in the video for Ratatata (Instead the third member here was Momometal who became an official member just last year)

Well atleast they are half correct since babymetal at it's core is a fusion of idol music (so J-pop) and metal:D

@@Glynthepin Jpop is the last pop music in the world that still contains rock music. Jpop isn't American pop or Kpop. There is some good stuff in there. Is there what people think of as Jpop in Jpop? Absolutely. But there is a lot of stuff. There are some good rock songs. And the Vocaloid stuff is fantastic.

@@Tyyppl True but outdated :p idol music isn't synonym of J-pop anymore, idol music ranges from generic pop to highly technical brutal metal, disco to punk, EDM to full on prog rock, or just weird experimental stuff ahah

@@TheLeomarti Well Jpop kind of ranges on multiple genres too. If you go to a record stores in japan pretty much every single japanese artist are labeled as J-pop:D. Was so confusing when I tried to find some babymetal cd-s and everything was just Jpop:D

Just for the record this had no featured artist. True 50/50 collab, that's straight from Electric Callboy. If you like the live there is an official Live from Fox Fest version of this. Which was the first time it was performed live. It's since had many duets with the two bands doing this. And was a hit at every festival it was played at. This has had over 14,000,000 views since first appearing on KZbin a month ago.

5:48 This is going to be a bit long, but I want to share something with those who don't know. Describing Japanese music and entertainment as similar to something from "that country" is a tremendous insult to the Japanese people. This is because "those people" have a long history of imitation and plagiarism that continues to this day, and they even claim their origins. I know you are not interested in Far East Asian politics or news, but please know that this country is the exact opposite of the image of integrity and promise keeping that Japan has created for itself. Please don't tell them that you equate them with those who manipulate music rankings in various countries and fabricate popularity. BABYMETAL is a group of people who have "worked hard" to gain the attention and status they have today.

The is a great song. It does exactly what it intended to do. It is not going to solve world conflict and poverty, nor redefine the world of metal. It is "Hey guys, drink, dance, and have fun. Let's bring a smile to your face." 100 % target met.

@@rolandkarlsson7072Electric Callboy made a reactors reaction. In general they like reaction channels and you could probably say that the Video shoot with Babymetal was unexpectedly stressful for them. First they tried to follow the girls movements and totally failed. Hardy surprising, they train 6 days per week with each other. When Su and Moa were out of their old contract Moa visited a few normal auditions and it was obvious that Moa moved on a different Planet. It was obvious that with babymetal under her Belt she could organize a dance group around herself or hire a Manager. And Su had the same problem and so they decided to offer there old Manager a Proposal, what they wanted to continue Babymetal and he was interested but also extremly careful. They had to contact Momo first and he had to expect that Babymetal no longer moved as many people as they once had. So they played it extremly safe. But on their World Tour it was obvious that the Name Babymetal pulled people in the locations as before Corona. How were they able to even win new fans when they were not able to go on Stage. Their Corona Collab with BMTH was an obvious candidate and when they saw the sales... And when they got Momo and started their preparations it was nearly to easy for Su and Moa. Something was missing and they started thinking toward the Collab idea.

Welcome to the Foxhole or just another way to say BabyMetal's journey🦊🤘🔥 It's always nice to see more reactors getting into this amazing group, they're a global phenomenon from Japan and it's cool one of you already saw them live but trust me when i say you barely scratched the surface. Here's a brief info about this amazing group: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, recently 25. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but remember that status changed last year. There's no other group like them around and teaming up with this group from Germany just elevated them even higher. If you like Jpop and edm elements then you're gonna find a lot of cool songs blended with heavy metal in their latest album "The Other One" released last year. Songs like Divine Attack - Shingeki, METALIZM, Time Wave and Light and Darkness among other great songs as well tracks and live performance from early era will make you bounce and rock with this insane group. This single reached Number 1 best selling song in the US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands! The last weekend of May they did the live premiere of this song just a few days after the single was released in Japan at FOX_FEST (a festival held by BM) and everyone went wild with this collab, the live version is already out if you don't wanna stop enjoying this song. They played this together once again at Rock Am Ring and the day before at Rock Im Park in Germany twice in the same day, one during EC show and later at BM show. They already finished the Europe Tour at Resurrection Fest in Spain playing this collab once again in the same stage twice. The girl in the middle is the lead singer SuMetal and she actually dance less than the other girls (MoaMetal and MomoMetal) because she sings most of the time but regardless she can dance and sing and you won't even notice she's out of breath. About this song: This was filmed in Germany and the concept of the MV is they're breaking boundaries with the genres and they don't care about corporation decisions. The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference. The "Fu Fu" part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus but it's also used in Japanese karaoke as well many others songs. The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with some guitar elements. The moment when they're bursting the wall is another homage to Aerosmith x Run DMC - Walk This Way MV, symbolism of breaking the boundaries with the music genres like I already said. Also one of the singers is holding up the cable with electricity during the breakdown it could be a reference to "The Cable Guy" movie. When I heard the official audio I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that in the MV, although later fans spotted in the live performance, so it was her after all as well in the third chorus when singing "Everybody". There's probably more references but I'm a little bit far away from pop culture nowadays that I'm probably missing a lot more. Fun fact: EC said in a reactor comment and later at their own reaction video that they did the bursting the walls scene in one shot, there will be a bts so we're waiting for more. The crew had to put all those disco ball on the celling manually just for this song. They met each other last year when BM went to see EC live in Boston and they asked them to work together, this is a 50/50 collab song. Next suggestion: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV (2015). I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get more proshot clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it. See you next time 🦊🤘🐭

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn-pmneNf81lfKM - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWOWaGV5arV9gq8 - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014. kzbin.info/www/bejne/moaWaXaPoNV1rKs - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKjWmqGjrbmrmNE - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIPGapeYnM51hqs - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJibhpKgZcyjgqs - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6c - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/boildZyCgrONmac - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday). kzbin.info/www/bejne/eITNp2yFjtmKkJI - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5uQhoR_odamf7M If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4TdimyagZtkabM - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5W3YqytjrdoidE - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6Smp4yMg8p3Ztk - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHyyfWmsaLKXaMU - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIWoioh8nLGpm7ssi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2mpfKijq81grZo Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo. - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpiTg6yimMxrfJI This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2WTh6CKfbibasU And here's a BM guide (the long one). kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3rFY6t7qc2Xicksi=EnEYU4nN3tuiY3WL There's a beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until last year unlike the other one with full updates till this year. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4mYp51nYrialZYsi=icqbG22Ysw0Pc-Ll 🦊🤘

It was a 50 / 50 Collab. And while the Electric Callboy Elements were more obvious, the Babymetal hooks got much deeper and even Babymetal was surprised when Momo and Kevin shared growls. They never planned to use her abilities for more than a growl at the start of her parts.
