The reason dragon slayers get motion sickness is because their senses are heightened by their magic, but it only really kicks in when they're magic is strong enough, so Gajeel developed it after he spent three months training, and Wendy isn't strong enough to get it but she does later. Laxus lowkey admitted to having it in this episode like he's had it for a while

For the Dragon Slayers, something about the magic type causes them to get sick. The more powerful they are the worse it gets. Gajeel wasn't originally affected because he wasn't strong enough yet, but once he hit that level it set in. Natsu was always a beast so he was the first affected (in terms of the story).

Me was thinking that when u eat ur elements and its in ur belly, going inside vehicles will feel like the element going around circles and making u sick. Like if u eat food and going to a rollar coaster u might end up motion sickness as well.

Really thats some bullshit tho. Natsu seem to have had this problem ever since he was a kid, gajeel is way stronger now and at The s-class arc then natsu was when we first saw him yet never had that problem before. The writer either changed his mind or he did a big mistake

All the Dragon Slayers get Motion Sick once they hit a certain level. If they're not motion sick, they haven't matured into their power. It's like telling if a fruit is ripe and sweet or not at all and bitter. If they get motion sick, they're ripe and powerful if they don't, they still have room to grow.

Makes you wonder how Laxus and Cobra might deal with vehicles. Then again they are second generation and only got their powers from having a lacrima implanted into them, so they might go by other rules than those that got their powers from an actual dragon. (P.S. I already know the answer, but that's what was going through my head all the way back when I first read that chaper in the manga)

It depends on the power level. Natsu was strong enough to develop Motion sickness even at the start of the series. Gajeel seemed to develop the motion sickness just recently I assumed cause he didn't got motionsick in their ship on the way to Tenrou Island. And Wendy seemed to be too inexperienced. Laxus though... Was never shown riding any vehicle, just transforming himself into lightning. Probably because he developed motion sickness far long ago.

The Dragon Slayer motion sickness is a retcon, which is why it seems weird, the author decided to give that to all Dragon Slayers midway through the story. The explanation we go with is that they start getting motion sick after developing their magic to a certain point, and some people take longer like Gajeel did.

The subtitles in the scene with the king are not exactly correct. He said that the name he can't remember start with El, rather than L (keep in mind that in Japanese L and R are the same, so it cold be El or Er). And shapeshifter isn't exactly correct either. Just something to keep in mind for next episode. ;) Risley is an interesting character. Her magic clearly alters her appearance, but it's never confirmed in which direction, so we don't know whether the chubby or lean body is her natural state. It could be that she's naturally chubby and becoming thin is a backlash of her magic. Or it could be that she's naturally thin and constantly using her magic to appear chubby, but when she uses her magic for something else, her body goes back to it's natural shape. I suspect that she's naturally lean, but feels more comfortable with the more rounded body (or maybe it's a way to escape predators like Ichiya and his boys :P ). It'd make more sense that way why she's becoming thin when using her magic rather than having a backlash from a magic that doesn't seem all that powerful as well as the "backlash" not being detrimental. Usually backlash only is part of really strong magic and seriously detrimental, like Angel losing lifespan for summoning really powerful beings or Racer going feral over speed that rivals a teleporter. Ah, you don't have to worry about Natsu. The moment he has an enemy to fight or some other challenge he'll be instantly on his feet again. We've seen it so many times before and we'll see it again and again in the future how he pops right back up after traveling on vehicles if only he's given the right motivation. :)

When Dragon Slayers reach a certain level of magic power they gain motion sickness. Basically Gajeel hasnt even been on the same level as Episode 1 Natsu this whole time.

Gajeel doesn't have motion sickness before this arc actually I think the reason why gajeel didn't feel it first because I think it's base on how strong they are, Natsu we all know is very strong Wendy is still learning and growing that's why she doesn't feel it yet but spoilers Wendy will get it soon hahaha sorry for the spoilers same as the sense btw
