Bach - Prelude No. 2 in C Minor (BWV. 847)

Finally, here is the Prelude that goes along with the Fugue in C Minor which I had uploaded 6 months ago! Admittedly I didn't expect this project to take this long and it was one of the most difficult pieces I have ever played. I am not quite sure I am fully happy with this recording, however I am happy I have got it recorded, and I hope you enjoy. I would love to play more Bach Preludes and Fugues in the future. Thank you for reading and listening, and I hope to keep raising the bar with the pieces that I play on this channel and on my piano journey. Thank you.

Whoah, stunning tempo and very even. I find Bach so difficult, always feel like I am at least 2 or 3 grades behind compared to romantic/contemporary music. Maybe because I can't read the music fast enough and it takes so long to memorize this non-chord-based music.

You are definitely not alone! I think most pianists, including myself, find Bach to be in somewhat of a league of his own. His music is so worth learning though and in general I love Baroque music for how creative you can get with it. Playing Bach is like training for playing romantic composers!

Definitely agree on the learning aspect! Whenever I learn one of his pieces, I learn so much technique and music theory from it! That's why every 6 or 9 months I learn a new one of his pieces although I know it's gonna be a real fight for at least 8 weeks or more 😂

Get yourself a decent edition. I recommend Bischoff, published by Kalmus. Also Henle can be good, but the problem is you have to accept their choices, which are often suspect.

Thanks for the recommendations! I admit, I used the Schirmer edition which I got as a gift a few years ago which isnt the best. For Bach I actually prefer the Alfred editions, but I will look into those. Thanks again!
