We've had plenty of maps where you need to keep the Cyber alive to work as a turret and help via infighting. First map I've seen where you keep him alive primarily to escort to a finish though!

I found the concept pretty interesting like having a friendly monster that can trigger door or stuff like that for you and you need him to complete the level.

It is bizarre, but very entertaining. A cool idea would be to have the player choose any monster they want as a friendly coop for the entire level, and if he dies, you get voodoo dolled.

This map is insane. It was so surreal seeing you go through large empty room after large empty room at first! But then you need to escort the most dangerous enemy all the way through while keeping it alive the whole time. I love it.

​​@@quadratichorizon Unfortunately you can't make an enemy turn friendly with GZDoom's scripting (friendliness is an ingrained flag). The most you can get is a script that deletes all cybers and spawns friendly ones (like MBF's helper dogs) in their place.

I never thought someone will make The Mancubean Candidate sequel. Who would, honestly? Now I hope someone someday will make something similar with an Archvile - just imagine the player being forced to guide him through the level while constantly avoiding attacks from archie and other demons, additionally making sure V.I.P. won't get distracted with infighting. Though I'm not sure how it can executed since there's no special actions for archviles, unlike mancubi, arachnotrones or boss monsters. Maybe a dehacked manipulations would work. Anyway, awesome map. When decino uploads, my evening gets better.

Maybe you can need to protect the Archie and guide him to a specific spot to perform an archvile jump to reach the exit to the level.

In GZDoom, any monster can be assigned special actions. Archvile escort would be interesting. On one hand, the Archie can target and destroy other monsters without being retaliated against, but on the other, he can't take as many hits as a Cyberdemon, so deliberately allowing him to get hit so he takes out enemies for you isn't as viable. Being blinded by Archvile fire while trying to navigate the level and dodge attacks would be extra hectic. Would be fun to do with really high ceilings, so the Archvile swarm that attacks when you fail can launch you into the sky. Hmm, maybe even put a few ledges up top with exit linedefs that send you to an even harder level if you land up there...

The closest level I can think of that matches your description is Poogers Map 26, although instead of protecting your escort Archvile, you need to deliberately get it to infight against certain enemies.

Very neat idea for a map! Trying to protect a monster that wants to blast you into tiny Doomguy pieces the entire time is an interesting twist on the Escort Mission concept. For this one, I'd definitely want to use the mods that add health bars and damage numbers so I can keep an eye on how the Cybie is doing.

Very smart and fun map. I loved the spin Pecan put on the Mancubian Candidate's schtick, obviously covering the hardwired map trigger differences with GZDoom's special scripting. It would only be better if he modified cyberdemons to _not_ count as kills, so you have no completion-based reason to kill them and are more free to choose. That said, even such a cool fun map like this matters little to me when it's a map that uses Homesick for music. I'm not gonna scavenge for positive adjectives to describe it - all I can say with impact is that this music makes me smile. Thank you so much for the melody, decino. ❤😊

Boy what an interesting map this mod is. This music is odd (but a very nice one for the most part) and Cyber's are Nincompoops and their called Pinhead Larries! It seems a little hard cause of that one CyberDemon might dye easily cause of other monsters, but time it just right and then you succeed with ease. Overall what a great map. Kudos to you SuperPecanMan! 👍

This level actually reminds me of The Mancubian Candidate from Valiant where you need to protect a Mancubus, and you will also get freaking wrecked when it dies. It’s such an interesting concept, it really changes the way of how you usually play the game.

It's kinda funny what is immediately obvious to some players can take time for others - case in point, decino is exceptionally good at findings things that I never would have noticed in most maps, but at the beginning of this map I immediately was like 'ahh, so you've gotta bring the cyber buddy back to the start, and the bars open when he gets close :)' which took a fair bit longer for decino to pick up on. Not a condemnation of this gameplay or anything, just an interesting observation on differences between players.
