Im a contractor in Florida that owners a restoration company and you have to be really careful when hiring a company down here. Check the license and make sure the contractors license is in the owners name or the company name is listed on the contractors license as a business he's qualifying. People will use real contractors license numbers but not actually be qualified by the contractor. Second thing to check is past and present law suite with them as the defendant. See if they were held liable and for what. It's OK if they have lawsuits where they're the plaintiff. Normally those are lein cases. Last thing to check is Google reviews, most importantly the negative ones. Once u find a contractor you're comfortable with, ask for references and call them, and insurance certificates holding you harmless and waiver of sub. Verify the insurance. If everything checks out, make sure you have a contract and payment scale, never pay a contractor in full before the job is done and the permit is closed.

His biggest thing was keeping his customers that have been with him for 15+ years HAPPY ! people that have been buying lumber way before he even started working there.
