Just started 4 raised beds in 9b after garden sitting for my sister in NC for a couple weeks. So many tomatoes and peppers!

That’s so exciting! You’re going to be amazed at how much you’ll get from 4 raised beds.

I just started a couple tomato and pepper varieties this past week too! I’m so excited for the fall garden. 😊

Awesome! I think this is the best time to start peppers in Florida. Thanks for watching!

And here I thought I was the only one still planting. Went ro my local farm supply this week for more seed potatoes, and they said they've never heard of anybody planting a 2nd round! A farm supply!

When I’m out of home grown potatoes, I buy organic Yukon gold potatoes from the grocery store. They are available all year long. I plant them as needed every season and have good success. The non organic potatoes are coated with chemicals to deter sprouting, I don’t ever plant those. I too was sadly surprised that seed potatoes are only offered once a year.

Here in Florida we’ve got until the end of October before the temperatures still cool off. July is a great time to squeeze another round in! I hope you get a good potato harvest!
@eddielyles89306 ай бұрын
I@@mlarson3455I did just that. Matter of fact my grocery gave me gold one they had pulled off the shelf that had started sprouting

Do you have a dust bath for your chickens? I think maybe that’s why your hen was in your seed starting mix.
@Homesteading.with.Shelby5 ай бұрын
They basically get to free range almost every day so they have a lot of opportunity to find sand. They always have just been attracted to this bin for some reason 🤔
@tammyhudson.80725 ай бұрын
@@Homesteading.with.Shelby Dust baths, are how chickens cool themselves, especially in the hot summer. I keep finding one of my hens in one of my tall raised beds and I have a dust bath for them, but I think she prefers the raised bed because it’s always nice and damp. So I was just thinking maybe you were dealing with the same thing I hope you have a great day.

@@tammyhudson.8072 yes they pick a spot and stick with it typically. They love it under my children’s trampoline. Safe, shaded and sandy. Perfect for chickens! lol Thanks for watching!

Hello, I enjoy your channel. Thanks for your wonderful explanation on seed starting. Can you please give me the link for the seed blocker. I’m not sure which one to get off Amazon. Also, is there a link for the seed starting trays. All the trays I see on Amazon are plastic. Thanks again!

Hi, thanks so much for watching. All the links are in the description and links to my Amazon storefront with those products. I’m sorry I missed your comment!

@@Homesteading.with.Shelby i have grown Amish Paste for the last three years with excellent results. They are prolific and disease resistant here (zone 5b) and make fantastic sauce.
