Fairy’s second beach holiday. She runs free off lead on some beautiful Cornish beaches. In this video I answer some of the questions asked in the comments on my last video regarding giving Fairy fresh water to drink and how long I have had her. We love Fairy. We rescued a much adored Greyhound 20 years ago. At first we were very concerned. He was our first Greyhound. It took all of us time to adjust, but once we did everything was absolutely delightful. He was a sweet snuggle-bug. We love and miss him still. ❤️❤️❤️

She’s spectacular! Watching her is bittersweet for me. Our greyhound Sophie passed away in November. I’m watching this about a month later. She used to love to run on the beach. I will miss her forever. Nothing like being loved by a greyhound.

I've taken care of 5 greyhounds since 1976. I miss them so much, but I'm old enough now that a young dog will likely outlive me. But there is nothing so wonderful as a greyhoung hug!

Many years ago, I adopted and Ex racing greyhound. Man that puppy loved to run and could flat out fly too. It was a joy to watch him do his thing. And he had great house manners too. Such a good dog and I sure do miss him.

I had greyhound called Aoife, boen to run, not to race. Aoife (say Eefa), would never drink from a boql while out. Lakes, streams, muddy puddles you name it but never from my waterbottle! Greyhounds are so unique. Gentle as lambs and silly as pumpkins. I so miss my beautiful Aoife ❤

I could watch her all day- beautiful creature running free!!! I'm the same with our Brindle Grey- very cautious about letting him off as he even tries to hunt other dogs 😅 so on the rare occasions we get a secure open space it's a total honor to watch them run- doing what they love best x Fairy is STUNNING ❤I love her ears ❤ Oh and don't people find ANYTHING to worry about? "Shes dehydrated!" How do they know you've not got water ffs 😅😅 Fairy is obviously very well looked after and loved- plain to see ❤

People telling you your dog looks thirsty. Oh my god. Dogs a lead by their nose and tung. Sniffs everything and taste everything. That is a dog. The people telling you this probably don’t even have a dog. Take care of your beautiful doggy anyway you want your doing a wonderful job.

It brings a smile to my face watching her expression when she decides to run. You can see how much fun she is having running around the area at full speed. It is also obvious that you have done well in training her recall because I can see that as she's trotting around, she keeps checking in with you by looking back at you often. And she always looks at you before she takes off on a full-speed run. You can also tell the trust that she has in you because of the comfort she has in digging her resting area and settling in for a rest/nap. Great job with her and thanks for posting this video.

Fairy runs with such joy, freedom and abandonment. It's so amazing how you've allowed her to reclaim her right to enjoy being a youthful Greyhound, who can just run and have fun. She is so happy to run back to you, too, so you've obviously done a great job of training and bonding together. What a wonderful and beautiful video. Your story is similar to my rescued afghan hound… 🌊Sonya🐾🐾 I brought container of shredded chicken, cheese & also covered travel water. On the first off-leash at the beach…she would come almost back to me, until she couldn’t resist the treats. I measured the distance between her takeoff paw prints in the sand. Sonja’s distance was 11 feet from takeoff to landing back in the sand. Her spirit & life blossomed from her being able to “Fly” over the sand & ocean 🌊 (Ps…running in the sand was perfect for keeping her nails filed😉🐾🐾)

I’ve had a least two greyhounds living. With us for more than twenty years. I’ve never been able to let them off their leads as they have zero recall once they see something small and furry. You’ve done really well here.

For recall, we used to bring a duck squacker with us since there's no way our voices could carry far. We trained our Greyts to return upon hearing the duck calls.

I too love to see greyhounds run. I used to have an Irish Wolfhound that used to do lure coursing & she loved it. At the time I lived in Vancouver, Canada & we would go down to the ocean & she would take a bit of a run on the beach then take a leisurely swim in the water. My other Irish Wolfhound (lady)didn't run much as she had problems with her hips but she did love to have a quick dip in the water.

I saw something similar on a beach in Oregon. It was a similar setup, with the point of land providing a natural stopping point. There were two Greyhounds and they had a wonderful time. They even climbed like goats part way up the cliff!
