A friend had a brain tumour and had to go to Sweden to have it removed. What he didn't do when he got there was inform the staff that he grew up in Sweden and spoke fluent Swedish. He only spoke English to everybody except his family until he had his operation, after which he switched to only speaking Swedish. He kept it up for 24 hours before confessing. Apparently the doctors and the hospital staff did not appreciate the joke. Sadly the tumour was cancerous and eventually got the better of him, but many such stories of him remain for us to remember him by. I'm so glad you are doing better and are capable of telling us about akward experiences of passing gas through your urethra! Here's hoping Brian will never return to you or anybody.

King Bradberry What? Logically, it's the opposite... if you were weak, in certain situations where you'd get a scar, you'd instead be dead or your skin is really good at reconstructing itself (which doesn't make you stronger)... Besides you don't decide whether you want scars or not.

I can’t imagine how stressful it must be to have to see a bill that huge, even if you are insured, along with trying to get better from a serious illness.
@TriSci423 жыл бұрын
For 2 bags of saline to wash out a wound, 5 staples and two nurses/doctors to look at my head and say "yep. It needs staples and you probably have a concussion" about 30 minutes spent in the hospital cost me almost 6k USD. Originally it did but then insurance 6 or 7 months later said sike we paid it, here's some money back. It's crazy expensive out here and insurance will do everything they can to not pay.
@jasonmyneni86053 жыл бұрын
Honestly, that probably isn’t too inflated for a 9 hour surgery followed by a 2 day hospital stay. Anesthesia alone probably costed upwards of 8 grand. If a person in the UK, for example, saw the bill for this whole ordeal, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was close to 175,000 dollars

I just found your channel and I noticed the differences between your eyes, and I thought I wonder if she had brain surgery? I had brain surgery at 15 for an arachnoid cyst and I have mesh in my head too. I'm so proud of you for getting through it, I would watch the rest of this video but brings up too many memories of my surgery. Having someone poke around in your skull is no fun at all but we made it out! (Love your tree house bed btw)

Congratulations on a successful operation! I had brain surgery 35 or so years ago. After my insurance paid 80% I only had $144,000 left to pay myself :> Before the surgery the doctor asked if I wanted him to shave just a part of my head of the whole thing. When I asked what he meant by just a part, he explained I would be able to comb my hair over it and no one would notice. Well, when I woke up from surgery half my head was shaved, and the other half of my head still had butt length hair that was all matted with dried blood. So, I just had a nurse shave the other half. I didn't sleep for several weeks after the surgery. I just played my guitar because it was the only thing I never forgot how to do. I wasn't as lucky as you, I barely knew my own name after surgery. It took me a few years to teach myself to read, write, speak, and understand English all over again.. by myself with no help. I didn't remember friends and my families names, I couldn't remember most my life before then. I bought a computer to help reeducate myself with. I guess I did an okay job, I went on to teach a course in television production at the local community college, and graphic seminars at a couple universities.

Hi Braincraft, not Simone but I hope I can give my two cents. I dont know where Simone’s meningioma (Brian) was, so this may not be entirely true, but if it was causing vision problems it was most likely compressing the optic nerve. This would mean the doctor would probably be using a microscope type thing. Sometimes, actually most of the time from what Ive seen, doctors record what they see on the microscope. So the surgery was probably recorded. I don’t know if she can get it in any way. Also, Brian was probably removed piece by piece, so no more Brian lol. Edit: have seen several meningioma resections near the optic nerve

I think one of the greatest parts about this video is the positive impact it may have on people who may have to go through the same thing. In high school one of my best friend's little sister had to go through the same procedure and at the time there wasn't a lot of testimony online to help comfort his family outside of just reading material. I have personally always found comfort seeing somebody else's story over something I may have to tackle myself, and I think if you do make a video out of the footage that you had documented, I could definitely see it having a positive impact on people who may find themselves in a similar position you were in. I'm happy to hear that you are doing well and I look forward to future videos! Take care, Simone. :)

Amanda Kaee - I think Kristofers Kozlovs intended to reply to Toni Dupont-Mora, who said "... I enjoyed listening about your ordeal..." in the midst of a mostly positive comment.
