Goodness Phil! After hearing you describe your injuries, I am glad to see that you are still with us, and on the road to recovery. I am not sure if you realize just how much of a positive influence you have been on peoples' lives. You are the reason I joined Zwift, and therefore were the catalyst to my improved health and fitness. In an often dark world, you have always been a source of light, and I knew I could always click on a video and see you full of positive energy, and with a big smile on your face.. I am so glad to see that light still shines from within you, and I look forward to seeing it grow brighter as you continue to get stronger during your recovery. Wishing you a speedy recovery Phil.

Goodness indeed, Jasmine !! 😩 I massively appreciate you reaching out with such a wonderful and motivating message of support 🙏 It means a huge amount to me - and I’m so pleased you are on Zwift and enjoying the benefits of improved health. I found the WattBike and Zwift to be life changing for me back in 2018 also 💯And for sure I’m trying to stay positive, because my injuries could have been even worse, and I’m lucky to be able to still walk, and cycle for 20-30mins indoors in a very upright position in my neck and back brace which makes a big difference to my physical and mental health 👍. I’ll continue to take things slowly and carefully - and should make a full recovery in time 🤞. Thanks again Phill

Thanks ever so much for reaching out abdisaeed 🙏 it’s hugely appreciated and thanks for you sub 💯. For sure it was a really nasty accident, and I was lucky not to have worse injuries. So I always felt lucky to be able to make my way back gradually - and have enjoyed the process. Was doing well until early December, then got a couple of really nasty chest infections - so rebuilding again at present - but the real pleasure for me is the training and the small steps of progression, so really appreciate your kind support 🙏

Pardon my French but, Holy f***ing shit, Phil!! I am so glad you are "ok" relatively speaking. Kind of ironic, the very types of activities that put you in the position to endure these types of injuries are the same activities that make you tough enough to withstand them and recover from them. I'm sure you're in a boatload of discomfort and pain, both mentally and physically, I genuinely hope you get to feeling better rapidly. My very best to you and Jayne!

Phil, you are a true legend. My wife and I have so enjoyed the journey that you brilliantly documented through all of your videos. Your wattbike sessions, your knowledgeable obsession with fuelling, your chasing of segments outdoors and your throwing yourself into racing. Pain faces, pastries, protein shakes and panoramic views from your balcony, it's been an education. This is a mere bump in the road, there is a lot more to come and there can be no doubting your admirable positivity and fortitude. You will recover and come back stronger than ever, and I am sure that many look forward to sharing this continued journey with you. Stay strong and sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

As you’ll see in tonight’s video I’m starting to make some progress in my recovery, a slow journey, but one which I’m really enjoying - it’s almost good to reset and rebuild from a low fitness base (very carefully and still in the neck and back braces and a very upright position indoors ). Thanks ever so much Roman 🙏 - thats beyond kind of you !! It’s been a long road back, and still some way off where I was back in March-May last year. But I’ve enjoyed the process of training and rebuilding and will never take it for granted again. My pleasure on the videos - and hoping to have more videos filmed and edited now - just released on yesterday and am filming and editing another .

For sure Gary, not a video I was expecting to make either ! 🥵 And thanks ever so much for your very kind and poignant message 🙏. It’s great to hear about others like you who have been injured badly and gradually recovered and got back on the saddle ✊ And for sure I’m taking the recovery slow and steady, and in line with professional advice, will be a gradual process which I will enjoy, so staying positive because of this 💯. I remember nothing from the accident, so no nasty flash backs, but certainly my confidence will be lower. And related to this I’ll be looking to further reduce risk once I’ve recovered. Am very lucky to have the opportunity to recover in full in time, and don’t want to go through this again 👍
