These kits are based on the four guardian beasts colors. A bird that's in the south, a dragon that is to the east, the tiger in the West and this is the turtle colors in the North. I remembered them mentioning this in season 2 of Digimon.

There’s a third party that made metallic parts for the inner frame of the Barbatos. I used that when I built my sixth form version and it’s held up like a champ. Those metal parts can hold the extra weight easily.

@@blazinkid5178 I believe that was it, yes. And no, I didn’t have to trim any pieces. Some were a little tight, but they worked just fine. Currently my 6th form holds a pose with the chainsaw mace and has been for the past year or so.

OH I LIKE THIS A LOT!! That coloring change looks special. I built the MG BARBATOS earlier this year, and it’s one of the best MG I’ve ever built. I was actually thinking of using it on a custom build, and decided NOT to butcher it, because it was such a good kit!!

Barbatos will always look awesome in any color palettes you paint it. But I prefer the Chrome Limited edition.

@@nisnast I didn't just say any HUE. But any COLOR palette. It means a range of colors that differs in hue, saturation, and value. There are different types of color palettes and red and green is a part of it called complimentary colors so it should look good too.

White tiger Gundam, blue dragon Strike, red phoenix Strike Freedom and i guess that makes this the black tortoise Barbatos, thus making these four exclusives represent the beasts of the four cardinal directions. (or whatever they're known as) If we get the gold serpent then that would complete the set.

You actually use the other side of the knife handles! The notches match into the grabby hands and are pretty darn stable, just hard to get in there.

From my experience my Barbatos has aged poorly just by standing in a neutral pose, the shoulders and biceps became a floppy mess that i had to tighten them or else they would not hold anything, speaking of holding things, the hands are garbage, the pegs wear out so fast that within a week they will fall off all the time, the toes just don’t hold and will make the kit lean forward and that’s without the option parts. I heard that the metal parts set fixes most of these issues so i’m thinking of going for that

Honestly biggest upgrade you can give to a fresh built barbatos is setting it up on a stand and not using the mace, after a few years with just the katana and up on an action base he's just as solid as when I built him

The guys in the development section should've made Barbs here predominantly black if they wanna name it Xuanwu. With that amount of white it still has, Barbs here looks more like a Baihu variant instead. Regardless, now i kinda wonder what suit the remaining 3 variants would be made out of.

I skimmed the comments, but didn't see one about the metal (and harder plastic) third party parts. I got them especially for the 6th form. They definitely make it very solid, and the metal helps weigh it down a lot. It also includes a better (harder) plastic for those notoriously bad feet parts. I would recommend if you want to use the premium add-on parts, or just want a more solid Barbatos.

Also one gripe I and possibly others have are the weak parts in the shoulder, hip and feet frame. I think my Barbatos' hip broke because I made a mistake on tightening it but I've seen many who had the same issues after posing it many times. And that holding hands cn be a tad weak. Overall tho MG Barbie it still awesome

That's light reflection form the eye stickers on the kit.
