My Brother, Son in Law and I went to the revival and spent four days there camping, we think we saw everything there was to see, I enjoy both the repair shop and your youtube channel and my hobby is restoring stationary engines and collecting clocks and anything else that comes along. Oh for a work shop like yours 😃

I found an English wheeling machine in the 'Aircraft Factory' at the Brooklands Museum today. Rather than being cast it looks as though it was made from welded 1/2" steel plate. No name on it, I suspect it might have been made in the Vickers Factory at Brooklands / Weybridge when they were building aircraft there. Using wheeling machines was very common in aircraft construction until superseded by milling components out of solid blocks and composite construction.

50+ years ago, West's Austin garage in Lincoln had a bright red J40 up on a plinth in their showroom which I lusted after whenever I passed by on the bus. I have no idea what happened to it, but I went to school with West junior and he was never allowed to take it for a spin :~D My Porsche mechanic (924S - for me, the real beauty without the overblown wheel arches of the 944, though off the road since my mechanic died) always said Lotus stands for Loads Of Trouble, Usually Serious. (slightly tongue in cheek, since their own vehicle for several years was a Lotus, despite racing a 944 Turbo).

I was at the Revival on the Friday. My first time there and it was such a cool event. By pure luck my route took me past the entrance to the Repair Shop so had to stop and take a pic. Had a good look at that English wheel when I noticed it to see what make it was lol
