Back pressure test on Volvo 240

Yeah...I later removed it and found it had been hollowed out. Luckily, its not a requirement where I live. For some reason or another, on this 91 240 the exhaust flow was much lower than my 89 740. They both share the same engines and I wanted to figure it out....never really found anything other than the 240 has about 150,000 more miles than the 740...

I would be curious to see if it's as good on my 240 diesel. like it's a diesel i should have a full volume of gas all the time so maybe it acts a bit different than yours on the throttle response. Was you suspecting a clogged catalytic converter ?

I f i understand correctly the 240 has lower back pressure than the 740 ? As i know the exhaust system is not the same on 700 and 200 series. It's maybe more free flow on the 200. You mentionned the mileage : you think you have less compression on the engine,so less pressure in the exhaust because of the lower gas volume ? i don't understand what you mean. about you broken odometer on the 200 it's a pinion ring wich is famous for breaking. You can find them online and repair without problem
