I appreciate everything you do for new collectors. I just started coin hunting 2 months ago but more for profit than collecting, and I check in with this channel each day. I also learned 80% of what I know from this channel and constantly look at old videos that have to do with the coin I'm looking at at the time.

For my Whitman coin folders the coins always show on the outside too. I think the folders of Whitman look the best, though.

It doesn't matter what album you use, One should not use bare hands/fingers to handle coins. Wear gloves (Cotton or powder-free Latex is the best, I prefer powder-free Latex personally) when handling coins.

Great point about the Dansco slides! I cracked open an NGC PF68 Cameo 1964 Kennedy to put in my 7070, and now there's a nice long latitudinal hairline scratch on JFK's neck. Live and learn ...

I use binders with pages for 2x2 fold and staple holders. While I know people swear by Danscos and I do like the presentation, I'm just not comfortable using them. I would not recommend those Whitman folders unless your just putting circulated coins in them. They don't offer any protection and if you don't use gloves those nice BU pennies will be marred with oils from your fingers. I actually started with those when I was younger. I learned a lot since then on better ways to store and protect my coins.

Most of mine are Dansco, and they're definitely not riveted. They're held together with a threaded post. It sucks when you lose the end of a post. Maybe they ought to include a spare with each sale. Wouldn't cost more than a few cents. Regardless of the brand, except for well circulated coins I've NEVER pushed a coin in with a bare finger or thumb. Mostly, I use a clean piece of cellophane or something similar to the slide material to protect the coins. I've got some Choice BU copper coins inserted decades ago that look just as purdy as they did the day they were inserted.

I'm currently using the H E Harris albums for my basic coins and better albums for my more nice coins with the plastic slides. Does anyone have a great way to put coins in the H E Harris albums easier ? I'm putting my Kennedy halves in but my thumbs are taking a beating and are tapping out. I appreciate the channel and information.

I just got two albums off the eBay they're called premium coin albums for the Morgan dollars. They also fit peace dollars and other dollars and capsules and I got the silver Eagle one too. They're like $54. But you can put your coin in your airtight capsule in the album. seems like they're high quality. I'd love to get to do a video and talk about them if you could. I think the brand-name is safe, but it doesn't say that in the title.

Whether acidity or just exposure to the environment Whitman albums will after years leave the reverse as original the obverse will take on a patina. Lincoln cents will go from red to brown.

I just got 20 penny rolls from the bank and have went through a few and was happy to find a lot of toned pennies. Since November I only found one nice toned penny and now with all these specific rolls I'm finding 5-10 per roll and some of them are really nice. My question is what specifically causes toning and if i put some of the coins that are only lightly toned back in the roll and let them in there for 5-10 years will the get more toned.

I have the blue hardback books as my dad's that he started collecting many years ago. I have the wheat pennies regular pennies nickels dimes quarters Mercury dimes and Indian Head nickels. They have been in there for many of years and I am afraid to touch them I took a couple of the pennies out to look at the backs and it has some kind of like powder on it so I don't want to touch them or ruin them. I have a few of the good ones that you have put on here that was sold at Heritage auctions for good money so what should I do take them out and put them in one of those cardboard Square with plastic in the middle to send them in I don't want to touch them or clean them or anything.he has Been gone for 19 years now and I only received them when he passed so they've been in there for quite some time. I know they're very good coins especially the Mercury dimes and they have some stuff on them from being in there for a while & I'm not going to touch them or clean them. What is your advice on what I should do. Thank you

Why would you want silver to tone by corrosion or at least additional Sulphur from the air building up on the coin?

BlueRidge, You know anything on off metal errors with the stupid presidential dollar coins... I have a 2008 Z. Taylor.... Does not look right. And perhaps on Roosevelt; 1969 with crazy gold toning, and a definite foreign planchet, You can see different inscriptions on the back... Same with mid-60's Quarters..???

yeah, they come with the pages. They do not come with the airtight capsules. I don't know if you can put airtight capsule coins. And then go. No one's explained that. But I think you have to put the raw which also means unprotected coin. in protected into the plastic thing on the sheet And that protects
