I also respect that we are not focusing on Lauire Strode this time around and instead one of the many kids she would have in most of the various timelines, in this case her daughter Jamie. Once again, it gives the impression that it doesn't matter how distant you are to Michael Myers, if your related to him, he's coming for you. It's interesting how the legacy of what happened ten years ago and how it affected her. It's a lot more personal for a little girl having to go through all this. Rachel is also a very good final girl and I like the arc they give her. Starting out as a stuck-up teenager who doesn't even accept Jamie as her adopted sister, but then starts to realize that responsibility and starts to care about her once Michael is set lose on the town.

I honestly didn't know how to approach this sequel until now because up until both Halloween kills or ends, this was the Myers sequel that I had the most mixed feelings on. On the positive side of things, this movie has one of the most unique openings out of any of the sequels. It's the first film to not use the Jack O Lantern opening from the first three movies and instead goes for an ominous tone that permeates an autumn atmosphere, very haunting.

I feel like the shotgun stab was intended to be wonky. The way Michael held the gun barrel at the camera for a moment gives the impression that he's gonna shoot, only to just stab with it. It could be seen as an attempt at humor, like Michael doesn't know how to use a gun, so he just stabs with everything. You could also say it's Michael being smart, because a shotgun blast would make more noise in a suburban house than a simple stabbing, and Michael is supposed to be a fan of stealth.

I have so much nostalgia for this film from seeing it on tv as a kid. I’ve seen this film so many times. Genuinely one of my favorites of the Halloween franchise, 1-4 are definitely the peak of the franchise, but it dies a slow death from 5 on. H2O was good though.

I just can't figure out how the Hell did Michael Myers get into the school when Loomis and Jamie entered through the only Door ( that we can see) and Michael has to be there b4 them since he grabs them off from the sides and considering Michael was nowhere near the School, How would he even know they would go there

The paramedic kill is actually good, it shows Michaels strength. I mean Michael was believed to be strong, so we see his strength.

So, what are my problems? Well, and this is going to come off as a nitpick, but that one shot with the pink mask looks stupid. Why didn't anybody notice that on set? Speaking of which, the actual mask used didn't really bother me all that much, but it does contribute to this movie feeling like it was made for TV. Another Problem, which to be fair is not this movie's fault, is that this is the start to the convoluted direction that they would take afterwards.

Here's my opinion on the original Halloween films. I - III are clearly the best out of the series. 4 - 8 are just fun watches. But I have fun watching all of them.

Halloween 3 is no doubt one of the series best sequels, better than Halloween 4, even though I enjoyed it very much. It's funny that he falls down a mineshaft at a public park/rest stop, I mean, is there no park staff or a maintenance crew on hand to inspect the park for any dangers like this? Just think, how would the movie had ended if earlier that day someone already fell in and the park was closed off? I could see some orange cones circling the mineshaft perimeter, followed by that yellow CAUTION tape strung around.

I try not to be too pedantic when it comes to sequels that were never planned in the first place. Loomis survived the hospital! Makes little sense but considering our high opinion about him, why complain?? The start of the movie, with it's creepy shots of the harvest at dusk, pumpkins, a scythe, etc. are used to create mood and a sense of forebording. That opening is a favorite of many fans! Of course you are free to your opinion but don't complain when Mike kills a dog in part 1 & 4, then gloss over great things, that are different, from part 1. The intro montage, to set the mood, and the build up to hearing the iconic theme for the first time are done because The filmakers are creating a sense of tension and uneasiness, by making us wait, to hear our favorite horror theme! Welll favorite after F13 Part 3's disco theme ;) Also, no need to get upset when the head doctor says, he hoped Loomis dies. He's talking about the character. Not the actor. I know exactly where I was and who I was with. I had a highly emotional response, when I heard the news. Anyway, I'm not sure if it's part of your character's personna to miss all of these things?!? If so, I appologize but still don't see what your are trying to acheive? I love online film reviewers, like Cinema Snob, RLM, Decker Shadow, Phaelan, etc. So I know, and love that type of humor. I'm not sure what's going on here? Maybe an early vid, maybe a bad day? Ive seen other vids of yours, which I enjoy. Maybe I'll try this one again, at some point but for now. I'm out. Cheers.

However, if I had to pick a favorite character in this movie, it would have to be Dr. Loomis. I would actually go so far as to say that this is the best Dr. Loomis movie by a landslide. He starts off as someone who wants to destroy Meyers, only to find out in the end that you can't truly put an end to the evil.

If you go by the first half of the film, that makes sense. But they made the mistake of largely eliminating Loomis from the second half of the movie. 2 and 5 are his strongest outings.

@@tgriffin3059 I'll meet you halfway with Halloween II being a strong installment for Dr. Loomis. 5, not so much. As said when I gave my rant on that film, he's very much out of character and turned into a complete nut who's hard to sympathize with. Even Donald Pleasence disliked that film.

@@Merit2397 Pleasance is as entitled to his opinion as anybody, of course. But so am I. I am a disinterested, objective party. And if recall correctly, some of his loudest declarations against that film came when he was making 6. And the director of 6, from everything I've heard, didn't even want him there. I think some of his public hostility towards 5 came from a rather pathetic desire to keep his job! Othenin-Girard, whether you appreciate his approach or not, clearly regarded Pleasance as essential to the motif. Those who crafted 6 seemed as if they would have been just as happy if he weren't there, AT ALL... Of course, I'm not saying that's ALL there was to it. Pleasance was consistent in questioning the direction they took in 5. I'm just saying that it seemed to me that the tone of his criticism became more noticeable as he tried to ingratiate himself with his new taskmasters....

I liked that they tried something different. I had no problem's with Michael Myers not being in it. I thought it was a cool idea. Just wasn't the biggest fan of the final turn out. On a side note, huge fan of your videos!

@@ConfusedReviewsThe original is a masterpiece, the only film or films to truly reach it’s quality was 2018 and it’s trilogy. I know, that’s a hot take for most Halloween fans, but I loved all 3 of the DGG films for differing reasons. 2018 to Return to what the Legacy of Halloween is, Kills to expand upon and give us a Michael Myers that is extremely ruthless, and Ends to see how such an evil can change shape and infect a potentially innocent person to commit horrific atrocities. All three are great imo and makes for one hell of a Quadrilogy if you include 1978.
