Good to see you at one of my locals Donald, handled the chutes and black sections very well, Beecraigs has a lot of rooty paths and some that through use and rain have eroded quite a bit so a bit, there's more trails, one big one called "mawkit midden" which is very rooty and muddy in bits, if you go across the road there's Cockelroy Hill which you can go up and there's a couple of black/red trails, on Trailforks, I tried that twisty northshore feature on my old bike my wheel slipped an gd I ended up OTB and faceplanting it 😂 Great vid, keep em coming and thanks for sharing! 😁🚵♂️🏴🤙
@muddymongoosemtb98734 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gary😁 My front wheel slipped on that bit of boardwalk even though it does have chicken wire over it, it was still very slippy that day. I think I did Mawkit Midden the first time I was there it was good pretty rooty with a couple of punchy little climbs if I am thinking of the same place. It’s a great place. I did fancy checking out Cockelroy Hill but some guys said they’d seen signs saying no bikes but they weren’t sure if it might have been no motorbikes. I take it you’ve done it?
@garyalexander32814 жыл бұрын
@@muddymongoosemtb9873 I have and have never seen any signs saying no bikes, been up it a good number of times over the years both walking and more recently been going up on the bike, nice rock features at the top with a techy descent the other side, some bits I can manage, others way too steep but the last time I discovered a steep grass trail at the other side of Cockelroy, done bits of this, would need to session to do properly. There's also a popular trail called "Mini Enduro" on Trailforks which is listed as blue but feel this deserves a red grade as there are some steep sections and drop offs that can't be rolled.

Great video mate 👌 That black trail that you had the wee fall at is tricky. Took me ages before i could do it and I’ve only done it once lol I’m sure you’ll smash it next time you go 🤙

Cheers mate, I’ll give it another go when I return. I just washed out, the roots were covered in a film of slime that day. If I’d had more time that day I’d have probably given it another shot, but who knows I might of crashed even harder!😂😂😂. Do you visit Beecraigs a lot?

Cheers mate, yes it was nice to know that I have improved. There are a few other places I’ve been in the past that I’d like to revisit to see if I can do them better...just hoping to get some dry weather to give things a better go!😂

It’s a great fun area. It’s at the southern edge of the park. If you look on Trailforks it is the area that has black trail sections bombhole middle and black drops. There are lots of lines, chutes, drops to play about on.🤙🤙🤙😁

I don’t live far from Beecraigs. Couple weeks ago I cycled up and decided to give some of the trails a crack. I think I picked the wrong day absolute swamps and quagmires. Fun but exhausting especially the slick uphills with absolutely no grip.

Hi mate, I’ve found some of the red loops quite hard going even when it’s been relatively dry, in the wet I imagine it would be pretty tough. It was pretty slippy on this occasion but not too bad. It’s a great place though, I really enjoyed my time there.😁😁🤙🤙🤙Thanks for watching mate.😁😁😁

Sunday, rear wheel literally buckled before the big drop you mentioned first quarter (vertical drop, ha). Checkout my Instagram for a wee clip I got of my mate Jas while I was out of action! Pretty gutted, had just recently taken the wheels in for a service to tighten & true... buckled during a hill climb 👎🏻

@@muddymongoosemtb9873 Massive respect to the time you must spend on your channel, but thanks! Thankfully not. Cycling up to the central point for a few of those tracks, I heard my wheel rubbing side to side while standing for the climb. Asked both guys to have a listen as I tried to replicate it and the wheel went. Think the technician did his job in servicing the wheel & keeping it straight but the tension just wasn't there. Real shame... on the hunt for a new rear wheel for my Kona Four Deluxe nissan edition. Recommendations welcome!
