Man, I still have a complete in box Falcon Gold. Watching this makes me want to dig that out and boot it up again over 20 years later. Or, maybe it's easier just to seek out Energy Airforce!

Very nice. I spent a lot of time on Falcon back in the day -- particularly the original on Atari ST, and Falcon 3.0 on PC. I recall the latter having a very cool dynamic campaign that swallowed many hours of my life! It's interesting; booting this up for the first time and strapping into the virtual F-16, I felt "at home". I'd spent so much time in accurate models of F-16 cockpits growing up that it felt instantly familiar!

Aim Strike was really the height of the series. The way missions were structured was great and the most sim-like of the three. Over-G Fighters was almost a disappointment after that, with all the small, extremely generic and sometimes plain bullshit missions (that loved spawning in enemies in missile range right above you - or those god awful escort missions...). It did have a Su-27 though which was pretty cool. Speaking of PS2 flight games and sims: ever played Aero Elite? That one also delved into some interesting sim elements, especially with its "Scrambles" that could surprise you even in the menu and included "dry" tasks like approaching unresponsive airliners and firing warning shots at them.

Good to know! I have copies of both aimStrike and Over G Fighters on my shelf waiting for me to find some time for them. Looking forward to it! Not played the other game you mentioned... I'll keep an eye out for it though!

i have been playing the 2nd one, "aimstrike!" its amazing that it feel like a sim on ps2

And yes Aero Elite Combat Academy Is THE Hight of detailed Sim games on consoles ! Even Better Visually than Energy Airforce AIM strike And complete with Split-Screen 2player

Always loved fighter jets.. always loved games about fighter jets ever since I played Afterburner on Commodore64 staying home from school having Chickenpox 🙂🕹, in regards to physical copies, all of you better snatch this and the first Energy Force game (Aim Strike is the sequal) before all those greedy opportunistic ebay scalpers catch on to these overlooked gems. Thanks for the positive review it helped me decide to purchase both games which are luckiliy still at a sane price ❤

Ace combat 4 is really is the most detailed in Realisticness in its Franchise 🤷‍♂️ And Over g Fighters wasn't Even Multiplatform yet it was Literally the same game as Energy Airforce with same Graphics and Voice actors and Everything !?
