Instead of complaining about dress codes why can't people just take inspiration from her outfit ideas & tweak them to fit your dress code if it's such a big deal? Outfit #1, buy a longer flowy top with full sleeves - fixed. Outfit #2, wear it on a date after school. Outfit #3, longer denim shirt - fixed. Outfit #4 zip/button up jacket - fixed.

Because there shouldn't be a dress code where girls can't show their shoulders or a half inch of their midriff because boys are sexist pigs. Why should girls have to abide by rules set in place to make sure boys can still "pay attention" in class. Because you know "shoulders are 'sexy' now". It is fucking skin! Shoulders, midriff, legs, arms, neck, and even breasts should not be sexualized. I would understand her vagina not being allowed to be shown, but everything else has nothing to do with sex! People in civilized countries talk about how women who must cover their entire body, hair, and face is a horrible world to live in. That women being oppressed and having to only dress a certain way to keep men in line is a disgusting set of rules and beliefs. You would think in our "civilized" more advanced part of our world we would be able to allow girls to wear shorts that don't expose their vagina, to show their shoulders and arms without condemning them because of what boys may do.

i watched this the first day it came out. thought it was a cute video. today i found out it got tons of hate because people kept saying that these aren't looks for high schoolers. I am quite shocked that that many people didn't find it 100% obvious that she's doing college girl looks. I understand the desire to defend Jaclyn, I really do. I absolutely adore Jaclyn, but I want to touch on the whole "haters complaining about dress code." People are pointing out the dress code restrictions because it affects a lot of people. That is just a fact. It's NOT hate. It would be hate if they said something along the lines of "You dumb bitch, girls can't wear that in high school." Which I have yet to see. Yes, not everyone has a dress code, but I would be willing to bet that a lot more high schools do than don't. A lot of Jaclyn's audience involves young girls and high school, so it makes sense that they'd be a little bummed about not getting to replicate her exact style, because let's be honest, Jaclyn is a stunner with great fashion sense. Some of you are stating these lookbooks are just for inspiration, but not everyone is able to create looks based off of these outfits. I, for one, have to see something before I can envision it. I'm not creative. I personally feel the people being attacked are those who are stating anything other than a kiss-ass remark about how wonderful the outfits are. You don't have to agree, but you also don't have to degrade someone who expresses that they are upset because their school's dresscode would not allow outfits such as these.

She said because it was really hard finding a location to shoot it, a lot of schools and campuses weren't allowing it. Okay. First of all, SLAY JACLYN. Makeup popping, so is your body and so is the ENTIRE FUCKING THAAANG. Second of all those outfits are so bomb, I would definitely wear something like that BUT I think the outfit with the white off the shoulder top and shorts was my fave. Third, you guys did an amazing job. Instead of just filming yourself in a corner of your beauty room you made this! This is by far the best look book I've ever seen on KZbin! But comparing camera quality and editing, Desi's is much better. I love Jaclyn as well, but there were times in this lookbook when I could tell that a different camera was used and it wasn't as clear as the one before. Desi has a total of 6 outfits, total cost was a little above $900. Jaclyn had 5 outfits, total cost around $1450. She backpedaled to say that this lookbook is geared toward college girls when she said in snaps it was for high school age girls.. I don't understand why she would film in a high school with a bunch of high school students around her and not in a campus if this was the case all along. Plus, all of these pieces are her staples; bomber jacket, ripped jeans, the white top etc.. Desi actually styled an entire cohesive lookbook. Jaclyn's, tbh, looked very thrown together. Like she just took her favorite outfits she already had while she pranced around a high school. I definitely think this could have been done better.

So confused at the complaints on this video #1 not all schools have dresscodes surprisingly. A school in the town next to me doesn't, tons of schools on the coast of California don't either. :D #2 this video is meant to offer inspiration for outfits. You don't have to get the exact outfit, there's lots of cheaper alternatives :)) AND YEAH just a bit confused since it looks like Jaclyn worked extremely hard on this and had fun so I'm just not sure how it negatively affects anyone

I'm 39 years old and I'm a firm believer in growing old gracefully..I still feel young but I respect the FACT that I'm aging we all do..I wear whatever I want to wear and if I feel that I'm a little to "old" for it I will add in something that I feel makes it a little more age appropriate, like a cute overcoat or a tank underneath a shirt that may show too much belly...I love being 39 I feel beautiful and I have confidence to wear the things I love with a smile and the attitude to pull it off..Just because you're a mature woman doesn't mean you have to wear Mom jeans and sweatshirts with no makeup and boring hair...Spice it up and have fun as long as you're classy and don't make a fool of yourself in clothes that belong on a 16 year old then I'd say you're all Good mama~ WORK :)

I love that she got inspiration from this video how to layer different fabrics and textures (obviously in her own 11 year old way) and she now has confidence in her 6th grade wardrobe. Why is everyone interpreting the comments where fans are saying they have a dress code, as hate. A lot of her fan base are in highschool, it makes sense they assumed it was for their highschool. The reason people like Jaclyn is because they can relate to her. However, it's impossible for Jaclyn to cater to everyone. Jaclyn's viewers are of different age groups and from all over the world. In my country (Norway) we could wear whatever we wanted to high school. And now that I'm in college and go shopping for back to school clothes this could perfectly be something I found inspiration from. I'm not gonna go buy every single object she's wearing in this video, but would rather draw inspiration from it instead. Which is what a high schooler with dress codes could do instead of complaining to Jaclyn about not catering perfectly to them.
