I’m currently taking prerequisites for the Vet Tech program at Chatt State in Chattanooga, TN and here you have to take an Intro to Vett 1010 as a prerequisite before they determine if you get are accepted into the program or not and I have the same textbook and workbook!

It feels so weird for me not going back to school this semester. Funny thing that you mentioned about being an adult when your done with school, a 9 year old asked me when i was going back to school and when i told her i graduated and worked at the vet now she was like " i guess your an adult now" lol

Hi I just found your channel this week and I'm loving your content thus far! I wanted to ask your opinion on some things do you think there is an age cap for becoming a vet tech? I've heard some people say it's not a long term career? Also I am visually impaired I'm blind in my left eye and I have bad peripheral vision and my depth perception can sometimes be a little off. Do you think this would inhibit my ability to become a vet tech? Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

Is there an actual difference veterinary technicians vs technologists? Is the school the same? I’m a sophomore in college getting a BS in Animal Science. I currently work at an animal shelter. Trying to decide what to do next. I currently have a pre-vet concentration attached to my degree, but I’m thinking about dropping it because I don’t think I actually want to be a vet. But I’ve heard that job prospectives are really good with that concentration. BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. lol, please if anyone has any suggestions/thoughts/comments, please reply.

Hi I love your videos. I recently found them and wanted to as you a question. My dog Bentlee is 13 he has an enlarged heart & pulmonary hypertension diagnosed abt 18 mos ago he acts normal I don't think he knows he is sick. He just wants to play. however the vet said there ia a part of his heart that could tear which would cause death instantaneously so I limit that playing. My question: is it wrong to would to as his regular vet to put him to sleep if it comes to that? He also sees a cardiologist and there is the risk of him having to go to an ER. His regular vet has been seeing him since he was 12 weeks old. He's 13 now. She is like family but I'm not sure if it's a burden to ask that of her.

in my opinion if your dog has a good quality of life he's doing all the things he loves if he is not in pain you don't need to rush putting your dog to "sleep". what i tell clients is to make a chart of smily faces and mark them on your calendar to see how his weeks are. And Im sure you wouldn't bother your vet by asking her. Hope this helps

That's true. You are totally right. He doesn't know he's sick and has to stop playing if he starts coughing a lot. He just wants to carry on playing and a little sweetheart. I know this is bad but I obsess over it. When the vet said his condition could turn on a dime even though I am doing everything right it's something that started to weigh on my mind. It was a shock to hear that. Thanks for responding! The calendar is a great idea.

Are you still attending Penn Foster? If not what school are you attending? I'm extremely interested in becoming a vet tech but I'm having trouble finding work where I can get physical experience since I live in Florida I'd have to take Penn Foster online but everywhere I look, they want an experienced vet tech and I cant find volunteering anywhere :(( Do you have any advice?

Troy NightingaleASMR I believe she attends Cedar Valley. I’m also on the same path though! I have no experience whatsoever so I applied at my local vet and luckily, they’re willing to train me as a vet assistant and in a few months I’m planning on starting the Penn Foster program since it’ll be easier for my externship if I’m already working somewhere. If you’re having trouble, I’d say volunteer or start off in kennels which is what Victoria did, then she was able to work her way up. I’d suggest finding a place before beginning Penn Foster or any program because finding an externship site may be difficult while you’re enrolled. Hope this helped!! 😊
