My sister gave me a trick. Oh that cute or whatever thing. She would carry on it is around if still in hand towards end then maybe. Mainly back to where we he picked it to put away I leave target now with what I came into buy, ( most of the time). Also you as you are decluttering discuss not wanting to dump into landfills, trying to pass things to others. So only buying what is really at all these places, might be a positive emotion boost as we think how not to overuse.

I don't know how much things have changed since I went to school but I maybe used 3 pencils, half of a black pen and a quarter of a red pen the whole year. I even reused my pink eraser cause there was a lot of it left but the school list wanted you to buy multiple red pens for checking, a bunch of kleenexes, all these colored pencils and whatnot you only use a few times and the excess loose leaf paper or a notebook you didn't even need for a class. It was nuts imo. Just the waste aspect or cookie cutter aspect of it bugged me when every kid is different and could organize their notes and stuff in a way that works best for them.

My parents got me a nice plain blue north face backpack in the 9th grade (the Jansport one I had from 5th grade finally died) and I still have it today. Do they have baskets at Target, or just carts? Using a basket might help with impulse shopping. I always use a basket because I don't have a car so am limited to what I can walk with or take on transit. Anything too heavy or bulky for a basket is too heavy or bulky to buy, unless it's a special trip for that one thing. (A fixed income is motivating, too, alas.)

School supplies can last forever...I've still got a bucket of pencil crayons that are close to 30 years old, mechanical pencils, pencil lead refills, erasers etc. Put the lid back on your pens & they last for years, and years, and years (will I ever get to buy a new pen?!?) Treat your folders, binders & backpacks well and they will last too. (I'm still using my high-school backpack which did college & now is my travel bag. It's seriously 20 years old by now & fully functional.) I see all the pretties & tell myself no, I don't need notebooks, I've got a lifetime supply of pens still, tons of coloring supplies still. I do look for scissors so I can keep scissors in every stitching bag, but I'm apparently picky on design & rarely pick any up. So far I've bought 1 pack of markers (different colors from the classic set) for $0.99 and that's it. I didn't need it, but I'm hoping to kill off a few sharpies soon & rotate in some highlighters & markers.

Love the video but actually a bit shocked about all the things the teachers ask you to buy! In the UK all your books you write in are provided by the school, you basically just need pens and pencils. Text books are also provided. For sixth form (that's year 12 and 13 before university/college) you might have to buy a folder and paper but that's it. Even then, some kids struggle with things like scientific calculators, and recently, with having internet access to be able to do online learning. It's so nice you are able to help the kids who can't afford supplies, as in this economy... It's probably quite a few 😞

@@frankiapples and also, if one family might want to make different choices and buy wooden pencils or paper casing pens to have less plastic waste at the end of use, it may exceed the perceived benefits of the plastic erasable pen. Congrats on your self control! I've noticed since you found your microphone that the sound quality isn't as good as the voice overs. I know that voice overs take extra work, so that is a huge benefit to the microphone. However there are times the microphone works better than others. Examples in this video: around the 1min 17sec mark, I believe you're taking a lot softer than the few seconds immediately before in which the microphone was being overloaded with sound. Another time sound was good was in Target when you were between isles of backpacks and sharing about the struggle to stay focused while filming. Again, I think either you were speaking at a lower volume, or your setting in the store had background noise which the microphone was filtering out and so your voice was more clear. Last video, in the basement, the sound was not ideal and I suspect it could have been improved by speaking at a lower volume while wearing the mic. Hope that helps.

My husband is too. Luckily I am the one who goes on groceries store 😁😝. The questions you could ask yourself are : - Can we eat that before it come out of date ? If yes, then it’s okay to buy. - And do I have already enough for 3 months ? If yes, then it’s okay. If not, AND there is a solded price, go shop it ! In this way we always have enough food for 3 months, we barely never have to put food to trash and misters’ anxiety is calm down 👌.
@ahoardersheart2 жыл бұрын
Oh I fully understand your urges and “need” to stock up so my anxiety can be calm ❤️🙏🏻❤️ Our nervous system is wired that our hoard keeps us safe. Therefore the more I hoard, the more safe and calm I’ll feel. But we know that’s not true. Now, it’s okay for us to have some extras of our favorite groceries on hand. But when is it too much? When does it invade our living space? Look at what you already have and feel the emotion of abundance. You don’t need to run to the store when you already have extra. I’m practicing this myself because that triggers my hoarding too. I decided for our favorite shelf items: 5 is the max and 2 is when I restock to 5. This is only our favorite items ❤️ That keeps my nervous system calm. My hope is that this helps you too 🙏🏻

Great job, as always, super proud of you...not to be that person that nitpicks, but doesn't that paper say white binder instead of black? not sure if it matters...

OMG!! Haha, let me double check!! I won’t be surprised if it did 😂😂 I just grabbed the black one so it wouldn’t show the dirt and scuffs as fast!! Thank you so so much, I need to double check!!! 💜🦄🌟

So you were totally right, it does say white binder!! Lol I totally missed that!! That’s why I always got: “Doesn’t follow directions” when I was a kid 😂😂 #adhd
