You used to be able to take a whole tour through out the Chasm until the ice storm we had in 1998 took a bridge out... The boat ride (which was a real wooden boat not an inflatable one) from the end used to be FUN, alot of teachers would work there in the summer. In the winter the ice forms it is so pretty!!!

LOVE this part of the ADK! We've been vacationing in this area for 20 years. The North East and New England area are absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to see the next video. My guess is you're going to Lake Placid. I guess I will wait and see. Have fun!

My father grew up in Au Sable Forks NY and I was born in Plattsburgh NY.We would travel north every Summer from Long Island to Au Sable Forks and Silver Lake Mt.We would camp at our family lake house on Silver Lake.

Aaaagh! You were in NY! Whoohoo! Sometime you might want to swing by Rome, NY. There is a revolutionary war recreated fort right in the middle of the town-- Ft. Stanwix. And a couple of nice little restaurants right around there too.

You know...I have been wanting to go to Ireland and have started to make some plans to go next year for a Big Birthday. I grew up in that area. It is pronounced Aw- Sable with a long a, like the animal Sable. The Adirondacks are beautiful. You should try kayaking the Saranac River.

My backyard! I grew up about 20 miles south of AuSable..and it's pronounced AhSable (like the fur-sable). Great job Michelle and Brian.....your videos of the area are making me smile with all the memories of growing up in the area.

Funny thing is, we always look up the pronunciation and then we catch ourselves still saying it wrong. 😂 Once the video has been taken, it’s done…I can’t edit our voice so I just leave it and figure it’s not worth using overlay text just to give the correct pronunciation. That feels too petty so I just leave it.👍🏻😊🤓

That is a beautiful area. My family is from Elmira, NY which is by Watkins Glenn and Corning NY. Those are places you should check out. Watkins Glenn has the NASCAR track, but also a beautiful cavern like where you're at. Corning is where Corning Glass is at. The Finger Lakes are awesome too.

Have you ever tried Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds? Usually have large well maintained sites, plenty of privacy, and well managed. Good prices too!

Thanks for taking us along & we both agree the editing is spectacular. We've decided to avoid KOA in the future. Overpriced for amenities we don't need, but occasionally we've needed to be near certain attractions. Wish we could "meet & greet" today, but we're in my home state of Georgia, as we wrap up a 3 month adventure. We're headed to home base for a repair of a certain feature. Vinnie bypassed the hot water and we're experiencing some shower houses 😒😑 Ret ta go, Wanda

This is cool!!! I have lived in Keeseville NY all my life! Ausable Chasm is 3 miles from my home. Hope you enjoyed it. If you used your credit card in Canada you should see a discount on your bill. You could of stayed at the Au Sable Chasm campground. Oh I see you stiopped at Rulf's my granddaughter works there. Hope you enjoyed your time in my town!!!

Had to laugh, we here in the vermont/New York area, we are right across lake Champlain from there, call Ausable chasm; ahh-sable chasm. Beautiful place, next time cross the lake into Vermont for more beautiful scenery especially late September early October for foliage season. Route 100 or route 7! 🍁

It's always fun hearing come here's try and say some of these names, in NH we had no use for the letter R is it's in the middle of the word. If they said Con-cord, we knew they not from here. If they said War-chester, we knew they were not from MA.

Yes, that is on our list to go during foliage. Unfortunately this was the time that we had to pass through. Always make the best of what you have. 😊🤓 We also knew the correct pronunciation before visiting but we kept saying it the way. 😂 Unfortunately during editing I can’t change what we say. 😂

Back 40 years ago, my experience was KOA were all the bells and price was high. But for the price it's the McDonald's for camping. One on every tourist spot.

I've never seen nor heard of Ausable until this morning. Very nice place indeed. Now for the missed "ice cream" opportunity. LOL, good thing the roads go both ways, right Michelle? Those were some crazy KOA prices for the condition that camp was in. Such a beautiful adventure. Glad your back in the USA. Thanks for the video!

While we were in Florida (Jan to April)….you were exploring and did some great video’s one of the Columbia restaurant one of our favorites. Now we are back home and you are here in New York. This is our first year taking trips with our Pleasureway on tour 2.2 which we just got back from Seneca Lake area. Great wineries along the east and west side. Corning museum was nice as well and the main attraction is the Watkins Glen Gorge. Thanks for your video of Ausable…..which we will have to see. I bet you headed to Lake Placid…beautiful area. Went there this year with rv.

Love your channel and enjoy traveling along. You have some great recommendations for places to travel especially for me and my Class B van. I appreciate your opinions regarding destinations, restaurants, etc. My husband and I visited Ausable Chasm, Howe Caverns, Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain in 1979 when the area was preparing for the 1980 Olympics. It’s as beautiful as I remember, planning to return soon. Last year we visited the NY Finger Lakes, Letchworth State Park and Watkins Glen in autumn, Beautiful areas to explore. We boon docked at vineyard Harvest Hosts and camped at the State park which had clean accommodations. Looking forward to your next video and adventures on the road.

Ausable is such a great place. We took a trip there in 2017 and found where my wifes grandfather carved his initials in the rock where you get on the raft. He did this in the 1920s

Tip on left over Canadian money, particularly coins. Stop near the border, fuel up to the amount of change you have. Yes, Canadian gas is expensive, but coins are tough to exchange.

Love your content, watch every episode. But recently when your music plays the volume is very high. I have to turn the volume down and then back up to hear you talk. It only happens on your channel, so far. Do you have control of the volume when the music plays?

Sorry you’re experiencing that. I see the levels during editing and keep them the same during music on all videos. I’ve noticed certain songs sound louder even if the levels are set the same. Unfortunately it sounds differently on different sound systems also which I can’t control of course. Much like watching a movie when certain scenes are played and it gets very loud. Thanks for the feedback.

I think it’s a preference thing that each of us have. The diesel pumps are usually very oily and get your hands nasty and smelly much more than a gas pump.

The setup is the normal setup Starlink gives. We do not have the permanent mount on the roof. The service we signed up for at the time was the mobile plan (Starlink for RVs) where you can pause the service at any time.

We find KOA’s some of the worse and most expensive campgrounds out there, normally won’t stay there unless we’re desperate.
