I am so proud of you Shawn, for doing all you are for your family and trying to be ready for what this world is throwing at us. It is wonderful. I watch Emily’s show too. I hope the very best for you and your family. I know you will accomplish all you are setting out to do. My husband and I came close to this same lifestyle years ago and now he passed 23 months ago and I am 74 and not in good health. We built a large log home in the trees and grew huge gardens and beautiful food and apples, pears and berries. I canned and kept dry goods to feed our 9 children. It was a dream for our day then as it is coming true for you now. The memories are still amazing. Take care I miss seeing your show more often but understand what you are having to do. My the Lord bless and keep your family and Calli. I have been a fan for years and my husband was too.

Life is what it is. I am amazed that you are able to keep us in the loop as much as you do. I have been with you since you started the other cabin and built that land. I am not about to abandon your channel now. Whenever I feel I haven't heard from you, I always go searching to make sure I didn't miss one of your episodes. I know eventually, things will slow down for you. They have to because as you complete each project, that is one more ticked off the list. I am 72. When I was 10, my father and I planted 100 pine trees on our farm. Back then, the US agriculture dept paid farmers to plant trees on their properties. The trees were free. So 62 years later, the trees are huge!

Love the Chanel, and as a carpenter I must say your cabin is almost perfect. The roof is a work of tree proof art, though if I may raise a serious concern under the floorboards. There's no seal against radioactive radon gas encroachment, it's present in all soil, especially in Canada. It can build up to very dangerous levels and be a SERIOUS health concern. I've had to seal almost every building I've worked on against it. There's actually government guidelines for safety on it that are helpful. It's worth a try for keeping your family and yourself and pup safe 🙏🏽 keep the art and peaceful videos coming brotha, big fan 🙏🏽

Shawn, greetings from Kentucky. I am in the same boat. I’ve tripled my garden area, started a bee hive, split 7 cords of wood, fenced off 5 acres for my goats, bought two feeder pigs and 25 meat chicken, and more. This time of year is go go go, especially with the looming food shortages this summer. Hang in there and take it a day at a time. We will see you when you have time.

A top tip for your greenhouse management coming season: Professional growers adjust the climate according to the ratio of temperature to light (RTR). More light = higher temperature. Try not to fly above 30C or 85% humidity by opening windows, shading, etc.

Last weekend at the cabin in northern Minnesota, I watched two sandhills land about 20yrd from me in a little lowland area between the tamaraks on the lake and the ridgeline I was sitting on. They obviously didnt know i was there. It was real cool to see them up close!

commercial farming is a lot different than garden farming... i would never plant lettuce in my fields like i plant lettuce in my garden... i had some really good success planting potatoes in large pots with good drainage and with a manure/sand/mulch mix... it's fun to tinker with different techniques and methods
