Literally it’s so cleansing and necessary 🎉 we need as many women as possible being both weird/horny as fuck and also intellectual divas. Women are not inherently dumber (as society teaches us) but we are also allowed to be silly and stupid sometimes! We don’t have to be serious and monotone all the time to ‘prove’ our intelligence (even though men act like that’s the only valid way to ‘be smart’). She’s like the antithesis to the Madonna-whore complex. Women can be modest AND sexy AND smart AND silly AND tough AND sensitive AND confident AND not have our shit together all the time. Different facets for different expressions. Basically I’m a woman, I have a wife, and I’m very passionate about women 😂 just love being a girls girl 👩❤️👩 Randomly, her personality kind of reminds me of Cardi B. Just half funny silly shit mixed with actual deep ass observations and historical/art interests. Cardi’s recent Hot Ones interview is a prime example of this.

As a fellow goth of Broski nation, I would absolutely kill for Brittany - especially after she introduced me to Sleep Token just now! Nah, I'm not some poser, just an elder millennial lol The very MOMENT I turned on The Summoning, I understood exactly what was happening to Brittany physiologically. It all came rushing back because I suddenly heard all of my favorite bands at once - not directly, but the clear influence of men that put me in the same hysterics as Brittany lol Using all the same tricks! I cannot begin to express how satisfying it is to find new artists that were so obviously inspired by the same music that helped shape you, too - and then seeing their effect on the fans who fall in love with them. It's like watching (or hearing?) the evolution of music in real time.

Spot on about concert etiquette. I recently saw Cigarettes After Sex live. I've been a fan for a few years. The venue was 80% tiktokkers just filming the WHOLE time. Filming themselves. Snapchatting every 30 seconds. And their music is intimate, quiet, and dark. And I felt like it was ruined by the crowd just there to post on social media that they were there. I'd like to go again once the influencers move on and have a better experience with a crowd that cares about each other.

I’ve always said the same thing about the Hozier concert I went to in 2019. Granted pre pandemic, I was amazed how mid set people could run to the bathroom or get another drink and go right back to their spot up front with a couple of “excuse me”s and they wouldn’t have to worry about shoving, spilling their drinks or losing their spot. Like super respectful and chill group of people who love hozier’s music.

Though I left early bc i was so high from secondhand smoke, I felt like I was on top of the world, it was like a dream come true, it happened so suddenly and when I got home it took me almost two weeks to come out of my depression funk. I had never been to a concert before in my life but I had heard abt the phenomenon, and to experience it for myself was something else to say the least. Their songs spoke to me in a very big way and I'm so grateful for the experience and opportunity, and I may never be able to go to a concert again because I'm poor, I would do it all over again if I could.

He's not JUST listening to all kinds of music but he's partaking in all forms of literature to hone his lyricism. He's viewing all forms of visual art to add depth to music videos and stage shows. I've been going off to my friend about ST and the absolute genius that is behind all of them and their talent. It's almost unbearable how beautiful Vessel's voice is, and the interaction I've seen from the venues they've toured the last month or two are just 🤌🏻 I was also talking to her about why masked bandits are so hot, and I LOVEEEE that ST's main focus is their art and not them, because it's true - there is a certain level of bias that we put on artists when we can recognize them, their face, who they are as a person, so. Taking that away forces you to experience the art. I could talk myself into my grave about ST and it has been a LONG time since I've been this passionate about a particular artist or band, so. I'm just living in delulu land and enjoying the ride 🤣

Britney getting excited over being recognized by goth girls is so cute. lmfao And also her talking about Vessel pointing at her had me giggling like I was listening to a friend tell me about their experience from a concert.

Please always take the breaks you need! This is a really special thing you do for us every week & if you have to take breaks to prevent burnout, we understand!

My husband and I have been listening to Sleep Token for three years and this was the first concert of theirs we were able to go to. I was sad that they didn't play Euclid either, but it was still so euphoric. Best concert I've been to in a long time. It's soo cool to see you geek out over them like how I do ❤

I'm having very bad period pain and need to lay in bed because I have no energy. I was just crying a few minutes ago but I immediately clicked on your video out of excitement! I instantly felt better and happier! Thank you for being my period pain killer😂 and thanks for sharing your struggles with burnout. I can totally relate. No matter how much time between the episodes I will always watch them and no matter the topic. Even if I don't know something as much as you do. I just love your personality and you inspire me so much❤

Brittany: bad concert etiquette makes me cringe. Also Brittany: uses flash videos at concert

just a reminder everyone, do'nt pressure brittany to talk about inquisitor and his recent passing, we all mourn for him so assume she does too. Fly high🕊

Brittany was so great at U Iowa. The people who put it on said they had to turn people away and it was one of the best attended lectures in recent memory.

the best most intimate concert I have been to is Hoziers Wasteland Baby Show at the Fillmore Miami Beach in 2019. If I could go back to any moment in time, it would be then. nothing has amounted to that feeling of being front row in front of Hozier, just vibing and dancing, and waving and simping over his two background singers, Melissa and Kristen, who waved back at us and made our whole night. that was a vibe, post-pandemic concerts are just not the same.

I’m a first year college student and even though I’ve been here for a month I still struggle with missing home and putting myself out there, despite being social. But watching ur videos always helps me out a lot more than u could ever know. It’s so nice to hear u laugh and just talk about things. So thank u for being u ❤️

Hozier is an incredible performer. In 2015 my friend asked me to join her for concert! I did not know it was Hozier, I was not aware of him at the time. I fell in love during the concert, and then we got to meet him, big sweetheart. Became a huge fan after this concert. At the time I went to a lot of concerts, and have to agree with you that his fan base is amazing. The vibe at the show was everything, and his performance was so cool and fun :)

Short story about horrible concert etiquette: Last year I got punched in the face at a Lady Gaga concert by a woman who I saw steal a friend's sunglasses. HIs phone was already gone so I figured she must have taken it as well, so calmly asked that she give back the sunglasses and phone and she and her boyfriend threatened to k-ll me. So my friend ran to get security (which was nonexistant even though we were front row of the front right section) and the lady decked me by the time security arrived and her ring gave me a deep gouge on my eyebrow. They were dragged out kicking and screaming, but yeah. Love traveling to Atlanta from Cleveland just to see my idol while bl00d pours down my face! 🙃

i also went to the Hozier concert in madissison Square Garden. And going to a Hozier concert was actually one of the things that I wanted to do before I died. like I used to say "If I died, the reason my sprit would not pass on is because i haven't seen hozier live." and now that i have, i don't know what to do. I've done the one thing that i wanted to do, so now what?

i saw hozier for the first time in 2019 on his wasteland baby tour and somehow made my way up to the front by the grace of god. when i heard work song live i sobbed. WEPT. I have never heard a live artist sound the way he does. the room was silent just listening to him coo like the majestic song bird he is. i am seeing him this next weekend for the second time at my first acl and i am trying not to think to much about it cause i fear i will internally combust from excitement.

THANK YOU!!! Going to concerts has become such a weird vibe for me like the eras tour was one thing everyone there was supportive and kind and I never felt off for one second but other shows I have been to it’s been this weird feeling of like I don’t give a shit what you think I’m going to do and say what I want just so this person notices me and I feel like it takes away from the concert experience as a whole. Like it’s not as fun as it used to be for some reason and I hate that

Omg the concert etiquette thing is soooo true. I was at a back seat lovers concert in like Chicago a year or two ago and these people in the balcony kept yelling “show us your boobs” or “show us your dick” or other really gross things. It was really disgusting and annoying.

It's the worst it's ever been! A sea of phones, flashes, screaming, and entitlement. And I love our girl Brittany but her telling the story of having a front facing flash recording Sleep Token gave me the same vibes 😬

I am a math education major. I could not have gotten through studying without you. You are the spirit of my spirit. I love encouraging and empowering people but sometimes it takes a lot out of me. I would give to people no matter what, so just go easy on yourself. You’re doing a lot. You’re doing GREAT! Don’t let your crown slip.

the concert etiquette!!!! i saw boygenius in august and there’s one very emotional and personal song (letter to an old poet) and phoebe started asking the crowd to put their phones away during the song. she goes out into the audience to sing and the fact that there’s a real human there, crying, singing her heart out, and you still manage to have the audacity to pull your phone out and record ??? huhhhhhh?. it was so disappointing
@harperjamzz Жыл бұрын
when i saw boygenius, phoebe literally had to stop the performance twice because people still hand their phones out after she asked them not to and she called them out

I do genuinely think that there needs to be a cultural reset regarding what is okay behaviour in public. People are out here doing wild shit.
